German MILSURP Civilian MRE Gift Set

cool plastic carrier box, its real because it has german writing on the lid. good quality all around on the box, I cant say anything about the mre besides the fact that I think its a full sized(like not just an entrée. the thing im most impressed with is the radio, it works better than I had expected. it is solid, doesn't feel flimsy and it is very loud if you turn it up as far as it can go. it has decent reception too. what I like most is the amount of time u get with just a little turning of the handle. Ive yet to try the solar panel but I don't think that will do much to charge it anyway. im very happy with this product and would recommend to anybody who would like a box that could easily be turned into a mini b.o.b with little effort( I would trade out the mre for something like a datrex emergency ration bar.)

I was highly impressed with the radio, it works great. Love that its both solar and hand crank powered and the weather channels are a good addition. $20 is an unbeatable price. The MRE was sealed and in good condition and the decontamination box is a very nice ammo container to throw over your shoulder with easy access, its plastic but feels sturdy. Think I might buy another.

First off, let me say the radio is fantastic. If I were reviewing just that, I would give it 5 stars. The rest of the package falls short, however. The MRE had basically exploded inside its own package when I took my first look at everything. There was jelly from the cracker spread all over everything inside of the little meal pouch, and I had to open it to clean off the rest of the MRE just to see what flavor it was. Needless to say I was not impressed. The case everything comes in seems to be a sturdy-ish plastic that holds everything well, so no complaints there. My main beef with the whole thing was the MRE. It was inside a "military grade" protective container, so that means it was packaged the way I received it, a total mess. If it wasn't for the kick-ass radio I would have just returned the whole damn thing I was so irritated by the state of the MRE. Oh well, live and learn.

For the price I paid it was totally worth it. Even if it only had the case and radio. Throw in the MRE and sticker and it's great. A little easier to buy this and get the extra stuff if you are just wanting to try an MRE for the first time.

I like the package setup. I was able to order a MRE to sample, a weather radio with crank and solar, and a protective can from the german surplus. The radio has 2 leds, one near antenna that tells you its charging, one near the speaker to let you know its picking up signal, this thing can get loud, the dials are very sensitive adjustments be careful with your ears!! have not tried the solar cause it is dark and raining right now but the hand crank works great. Stickers are just that some stickers. Now for the main reason I bought all this in a package: MRE by Eversafe: contents: 1 vanilla dairy shake powder, 1 grape jelly, 1 wheat snack bread, 1 lemon poppy seed pound cake, 1 Mexican Style Chicken Stew, 1 Package spoon,salt,pepper,napkin, 1 flameless ration heater. (these are randomly chosen meals, not everyone will get what I did). I will update after dinner to let you know what I think of the food itself.*update after meal*The flameless heater got the meal warm but not as hot as I prefer them, especially on cold days. *got as warm as one of the hot hands hand warmers but not any more than that.*The main dish was delicious: real chopped chicken not pressed meat, wasn't gummy like some shelf bought soups, had good flavor, corn, tomatoes, and sauce.The wheat bread was bland but still moist and more like a dense flatbread.Grape jelly is just that 1 oz of grape jelly.The vanilla shake powder: tasted like a melted vanilla shake, had somewhat of an unpleasant odor. plus after mixing you have 1 hour to drink or discard. Mixed easily with some shaking and squezing.The STAR of the meal was the lemon poppy seed pound cake: i love this food anyhow and was skeptical of this being any good but it was delicious and moist with tons of poppy seeds and mellow hint of lemon.Overall review 5 stars for MRE, but will purchase them without heaters and save the money and trash to carry out.

This is a great little kit, but I couldn't figure out if the box was metal or plastic and mine is most definitely plastic, which is fine. I just wish I would've known. Everything else is great. They shipped it quickly and it is a nice set.

I almost did not buy this item because the price had increased to $24, but then the price went back down to $20 and I immediately bought it. I purchased it for my youngest brother who is really into MREs and everything that was in this gift set. When I opened it was instantly impressed, this is an amazing product and I love it!
