Just to inform potential sauce makers!
I used to love this mash about a year ago, but nowadays the salt content is way too high I find. Despite this, it still provides a good basis for your own chilli sauce concoction. I'd add a lot of vinegar, garlic and other vegetables - such as carrots, onions and fresh tomatoes to help nullify the very high salt content though. I find the addition of cucumbers and pickles work a treat too. Good luck in your chilli sauce making endeavours and I hope you, like me, come up with some belters!!! ;) Dan M...

Lost everything that makes scotch bonnet chilles great (flavor and heat)
Not that impressed. I use a lot of fresh scotch bonnets when I can find them. I love the fruity sweet flavors. This mash has lost all of the flavor, all that is left is some heat but nowhere near what I am used to from the fresh ones. The heat of this is low enough that it can be used neat as a dip as I did last night. I have had scotch bonnet mash in the past and it actually tasted like the chilies which was what I was expecting.
