Age 2 with an attitude!
Well, I must say that this game is not going to push the envelope as far as graphics are concerned. The landscapes do look pretty good and the wildlife is cool. Some will attack and some won't. It's the way the troops move that is the downfall. They are a bit mechanical in their movement and they attack the same way each time they engage in combat. Also, the game is almost exactly the same as Age 2, but with Star Wars units instead. Nevertheless, don't let this disuade you. It's so much cooler to charge an enemy camp with storm troopers and at at's. I was getting tired of knights and elite skirmishers!!! This game was and continues to be real fun to play. I am a diehard Starcraft fan and was searching for another addictive rts game. To be honest, the only reasons for four stars instead of five, and I'd actually give it 4.5, is: When you select a formation and have it change direction it(the formation) falls apart to totally regroup and if you were persueing an enemy they will usually escape, also One thing I likes about Starcraft that I miss is that there are limited resources. Here as was in AOE you could keep pumping out the big units by trading at the market. I wish this was limited. It makes for better strategy and wiser use of forces. In real life you don't always have unlimited troops and such. Other than these deficiencies, the game really rocks and is very much a game that is replayable. I believe that you will really enjoy playing this game over and over. May the force be with you!

So Repetitive!
StarWars: Galatic Battlegrounds is a great PC game, however not the best StarWars game on the PC, not by a longshot. However the game is very easy to get into. You can play the scenarios or create your own where you can add characters from the movie. The sound effects are straight from the movie, there are a lot of characters from the expanded universe of StarWars which you may have to reference from the StarWars website for more background info on them. The cons of the game come from the feeling of "been there, done that," especially if you've played Age of Empires or Age of Kings to death. The gameplay becomes too repetitive and the replay value goes straight to hell. But it's a good game just realize that one day it's going to end up on the shelf with the rest of the games you've long since stopped playing.

Age of Empires meets Star Wars
If your a Star Wars fan and an avid player of the Age of Empires games then life just got better. This game is pretty much like playing Age of Empires, only with a wide cast of Star Wars characters. They've added some enhancements and a little more depth over the traditional Age of Empires gameplay, but it's basically the exact same idea...but that only stands to reason since it is developed from the Age of Empires engine. The graphics are very good but not superb (not Empire Earth good). For those of you who can't get enough Age of Empires then this is for you. If you've had it with that style of gameplay then you'll want to steer clear.

Not what was advertised NO STAR
This product was advertised as 'new', that's why I paid 50 plus dollars for it. It is used! Did not come with main box which contains the instruction booklet AND more importantly, a mapped out schematic of all the vehicles, buildings and soldiers, and thier advances through out the game. I know this, because I had it a long time ago. Very unsatisfied. BOOOOO! NO STARS!

This is an awesome battle simulation type game
This is an awesome battle simulation type game. If you like games like civilization or age of empires, then this Starwars themed game is right up your ally.. Take control of either the Naboo, the Trade Federation, the Gungans, the Rebel Army, the Empire, or The Wookies. Play out the scenarios from the movies and some not so well known stories from the books, Or Create your own maps and scenarios, Play in multi-player mode if you have friends who play and can link to you through the internet or private server if you know how to set that up. It's a lot of fun that can get you hooked for hours on end.

Combined the two greatest things.
It's based on the Genie engine used for AoE, and man it is so great! A lot of things were copied from AoE 2 (unique unit at the castle, loom as basic training, trebuchet as something else with 16 range, etc.), but there is nothing wrong with that. The really cool thing is each civilization has different looking buildings and units. AoE only had different looking buildings. For example, the Trade Federation has battle droid looking "Trooper" units, while the Empire has storm trooper looking "Trooper" units. The game also features shield generators and power systems. Shield generators will shield all nearby buildings and units. There are also air units which can only be destroyed by other air units, or anti-air units and towers.

THE BEST STAR WARS GAME EVER
When i seen this game in the store i thought of command and conquer its not besides being a war strategy that where the simalaritys end. this game has every thing you've seen in the star war series and more thair a 6 factions wookies, naboo, gunguns, trade federation, rebels, and the empire each with thair own weaknesses and strengths. this game adopts the ages of the empire game engine. instead of collecting one resources you collect 4 differnt kinds ore, food, nova, and carbon and each one is needed and fast because you need it to create troops mech ect. for the number of troops on screen at one time this game has little or no slow down except for internet play and the graphics are great if your a fan of star wars or just a fan of ages or command this is a must buy i'll play for 4 hr. and not know that much time had passed so buy the game you won't regret it.
