Gumstik Handy Artist Gummed Tape 54m (36mm)

Works well
I use gummed tape for sticking down watercolour paper to a board when stretching prior to painting. My first effort using this tape was not successful, but after giving it some thought I realised that the fault was entirely mine - I’d used a piece of furniture board with a surface that was far too smooth for the tape’s adhesive to grip onto. A quick coat of varnish on the board resolved that, and this tape then worked perfectly. As always, it’s best to use a piece of damp sponge to activate the adhesive so it doesn’t get too wet. I must admit, I initially wondered if it would be wide enough to secure the wet paper once it started to dry and stretch, but I needn’t have had any concerns - the photo shows a piece of A3 140lb 300 g/m2 paper stuck to 9mm varnished MDF board and the paper has stretched as tight as a drum without any issues. This is a good value tape, which does exactly the job I required it to do. An easy decision to give it 5 stars.I rely on unbiased reviews when making shopping choices so that’s exactly what you’ll get from me. An excellent device that stops paper buckling when paint is applied
The tape holds the paper flat on the board and prevents it from buckling when wet watercolours are applied .

Good quality tape
Exactly as described!Used to frame some drawings; very good strong adhesion provided you wet the tape generously, and dries to give a nice professional looking finish.Reasonable value as it should last me a very long time! (Could also use as parcel tape.)
