Having recently tackled the not-so-enviable task of replacing the worn-out springs on my attic stairs, I opted for the 56-1 Ladder Springs Replacement, specifically designed to fit pull-down ladder attic stairs. I'm pleased to tell that this product not only met but exceeded my expectations, making the pull-down ladder operation smooth and reliable once again.

I used them on my porch swing and they are not strong enough to just give a slight bounce but sinks down unevenly at 200 pounds.

Worked good

They are cleanly dark blue heat treated in appearance and unpainted. The hooks are offset in rotation about 20 degrees from each other which is not an issue. FYI extension vs load:2.5 inches at 40lbs;5.0 inches at 65lbs;6 inches at 70 lbs.On load release they assumed their original shape and handled repeated loading cycles with no problem. I don't have a need for a ladder spring but was hoping to use them as return springs for the piston on a 20ton stubby bottle jack as it has a 5.9 inch stroke. I'll post images of the completion once done in a few weeks. I give them 5 stars. because they have the stretch length I need and appear well made.

The delivery was great but unfortunately they didn’t fit the attic stairs so I had to return them. Great service though!
