This is what I've been needing. I make youtube videos so i need A LOT of port to connect everything so this helps out alot. I also do photography so its even MORE perfect by allowing me to connect and SD card

I'm a student, and avid review-reader, who (after some thorough searching) bought this hub to supplement my laptops 2 USB ports. I always use a wireless mouse and wifi adapter, but need to also be able to access my external hard drive, flash drive, or occasionally connect my wireless keyboard when I use my TV as a monitor. This little guy does everything I need it to.The packaging was very clean and made for a satisfying reveal (although Amazon shipped it in a hilariously oversized envelope). The product itself is very sleek and much smaller than I anticipated, which is even better because being a commuter means carrying everything with you. It looks wicked with my laptop setup, very professional, and the LED feature is pretty awesome aesthetically because it matches my laptop's color. There is an instruction booklet that kindly greets you as you pull out the hub, which very clearly outlines the devices capabilities and limitations.Because the hub is not powered, it most likely will not be able to support my external hard drive without sacrificing function of the other ports (the SD and TF card readers would be unaffected by this, although they can not be used simultaneously). This function does not hinder it's quality or ability to fulfill my needs, as I just plug my external drive into my laptops second port and everything else into the hub. My laptop has a built-in SD reader, so I can still read both TF and SD if I wanted to.All-in-all, I'd say this is the best bang for your buck as a student, traveler, business person, or recreational tech-head. Probably not ideal for anyone looking for a startionary hub for their home or office setup; would recommend a powered hub for that purely for versatility, but this brand is great.Very happy with my purchase!

Connected hub via usb 3 port on Asus win 8.1 pro laptop. Was able to read and write to and from laptop's hard drive to Passport usb 3 drive on hub. Tried inserting Kingston 32 GB SD card and it worked at first. Was able to copy files from SD card to Passport drive and (from SD to laptop hard drive at 50 MB/sec.) Read speed on SD is 80 MB/s top.However, after running several tests by running only 1 device attached to hub at a time - it didn't take long for the SD card to stop showing up. I was careful to use the remove USB drive OS menu when detaching devices.I was able to put the SD card directly in the laptop's card reader and it had no problems detecting it.So the answer is - not good as an SD card reader.

This is a lousy USB hub....the PC does not detect it and when you go to device manager and scan for USB hardware devices it is a hit and miss thing....the detection is erratic at best and I do not recommend this at all.....go find something else other than this hub this is not worth it. I get a message that the USB has malfunctioned hence not detected by windows...

On first use the ports worked but the reader did not . I noticed the mass storage driver had errors in windows device manager , driver installed but cannot start error. Usually that means the device has an electrical issue, either the cable or the device itself. I did have it on an extension cable so tried the front of the pc and that worked so I jumped to the next issue I see a lot with cheap usb devices, lack of filtering on the supply lines.I added a 100uf/10VDC capacitor to the +5V line inside the case , there is room for the cap because the pc board has a cutout for a 4th usb port that isn't installed. Once I did that the unit works like it should, get about 60MB/sec on card transfers while also using it as a usb hub for mouse.

I have emailed the seller twice now and not received a response. Below is what I shared with them:I have a Bluetooth microsoft keyboard that works just fine when I plug the receiver dongle into my laptop, but when I insert the dongle into the USB hub, the computer only receives some letters sporadically.I will type for you a sentence with the dongle in my laptop and then the same one with the dongle in the hub.I like chocolate chip cookies when there are very few chocolate chips in them like chocolate chicoies whe nthere are vy few choe echi in theI have made sure the batteries in the keyboard are new, and I have put the dongle and tested in each of the three usb spots in the hub.I have also tested this with a different brand of wireless mouse and the movement is glitchy too.

I have an older DSLR without the fancy wifi features. Using a special cable for Android (USB 2 GO?), I can use this SD card reader to quickly transfer my JPEG photos to Facebook and Google Photos with just my phone. (I shoot RAW+JPEG so I have the JPEG files my phone needs in order to transfer at all, but still have the higher quality RAW files to work with in a photo program later).This transferring method is faster than using the camera cord with my phone and also uses less battery than a Bluetooth or Wifi transfer would have used. I think, even if I had a fancier camera, I would still prefer to use this card reader method because it's so quick and so power efficient.Originally, I bought this to use with my Surface tablet but the convenience of it working with my phone has caused me to not even test it there yet. However, the build of the product is slim and small enough to comfortably carry with a Surface tablet PC in a simple neoprene sleeve and fits the overall Surface aesthetic and feel with my other accessories.

Por lo que se paga esta bien el producto está construido en plástico pero se siente de buena calidad se calienta un poco pero bastante imperceptible funciona con la mayoría de las laptops (he probado MacBook y Windows) lo recomiendo si no quieres gastar tanto y tener un producto funcional.
