5 Stars for a launcher I don't personally like but is a good product.
UPDATE: I figured out the real way to use this launcher. Flip it over, hold it with both hands, trigger hand with the trigger just under the thumb, aiming hand with the ball holder being supported from behind using the taco grip. Swing it like a trash bag and squeeze with your thumb during the forward motion. It goes quite a bit further or higher depending on what part of the swing you fire. Or just hold it one handed and push while you fire it. It works too, but is harder on my wrist and shoulder. You are welcome Hyper Pet, fix the product design and give it some WHOAH please.Up front, I ordered the wrong item. I didn't want this version of the ball launcher, the slide is really hard for me to operate. I have partial hand paralysis and a Golden Doodle. We play a lot of ball, launchers are integral and just a lot of fun for us both. So pro tip, double check this is the one for you, and not their nice looking pull ring handle version. Now, meat and taters.1. It is solidly built. Material and construction are sturdy, and the parts move nicely.2. Decent ergonomics. It really is comfortable to hold, and the cocking motion is intuitive. It is not an accessible device for those of us who benefit from those features as a fair counterpoint I feel.3. It is only good for tennis ball weight balls. I tried the Chuck-it rubber balls, and they kinda go. Tennis balls move, especially if you dont seat it all the way in the barrel end.4. The barrel end for hands free pickup needs a redesign. It is not an intuitive feature to use with how it is set up.5. It is safe. The controls lock out in sequence as it is cycled, seamlessly when operated exactly within their seemingly tight tolerances. It is solid like I said earlier. The controls are all easy to identify by feel as well. One thing that could use a bit of a guard is the trigger. THe trigger is easy to pull, benefit for me fur sure. But again, it is easy to pull. Follow the gun safety rules even though this is in every aspect a toy, and you are gonna have a fun time.I think it is a great quality launcher, just not a good fit for me. We are keeping it as a backup in case the one I m gonna get breaks like our Nerf one did.You want rapid fire play and to send a Chuck-it bucket down range pretty decent. Grab the Nerf. It is flimsy, but man they do some mileage on balls.

Dog favorite
Works really well and my dog is crazy for it. It takes a bit of strength to cock it though.

Great for High Energy Dogs
Great for high energy dogs that like acrobatic catches. With adjustable tension 10-50 ft range is great. My dog loves it!

Worst design yet
The original gun was amazing and this new design is garbage. We go through several a year simply because it's our favorite toy and I have a border collie who is ball focused. Tried this new one hoping it would be better and last longer, we usually snap the rubber bands and this one doesn't have them. Hard to get the ball loaded, harder to shoot and barely goes half the distance the original design went.

good for dogs
I think this was a good gun to play with your dog out sad I know it’s a short range it still gets to the job

What I don't like
The rubber bands that power this only last 2 months and you can't find replacements.

This shooter lasts much longer than the others
I looked at my past orders and I typically order one of these per month. The thing is that my dog loves to play ball with this thing and we go out 4-6 or more times a day. On a conservative side, each play session, we easily shoot 100 balls to chase. That’s 400 shots x 30 days = 12000 shots before the band or the plastic parts break. It’s high quality and lasts a lot longer than the bright green one from this brand and the other offerings from the big name foam ball brand.

Junk
The K9 cannon pro doesn't throw over 10 feet. My 5yr.old granddaughter can throw farther. It's a joke!
