Flavoured Water
I bought this tea as I was running low and I wanted to take some loose Earl Grey with me on holiday. Being a Prime member meant I would get it the next day whereas my normal supplier The Kent & Sussex Tea & Coffee Company takes longer. When it arrived, I was impressed with the packaging, though not eco, it was sealed well. On opening it I was greeted to a very strong and overpowering smell of Bergamot, very different from my normal tea which is a little more subtle. On a sliding scale this tea was 10 for smell, against my normal which is 6.Next stage was to try the tea. I prepared it in my normal way, warmed the tea pot, placed a scoop of tea in the bottom, poured boiling water on the tea. The smell of Bergamot was still extremely strong. Sliding scale 10 for this tea and 4 for my normal tea. Finally to the taste test. I was really looking forward to this. I'm a bit of a heathen, I prefer milk instead of lemon in my Earl Grey tea so at this point it's each for their own. I let the pot steep for about 3-5 minutes then poured out a little into the cup.Oh my goodness, was I shocked. There was no colour to the tea, it looked as if it hadn't brewed. I chucked it away and waited another couple of minutes then poured again. Next pour was no better so I had to presume this was as strong at it got.The tasting it was just as shocking because I basically got a mouthful of Bergamot flavoured water, not sense there was a good quality tea there. Sliding scale this tea 1 my normal tea 10.Star rating: Would have been zero, but then I wouldn't have been able to do this review.End Result: I didn't return this tea, because I am blending it with an extremely strong loose black tea a friend gave me so that saved me the hassle of a return when I was in holiday mode.I bought this on the basis of the feedback I read of others. I took the time to look at lots of teas listed on here and this one had the most positive feedback.I have been drinking loose tea for over 30 years so I know what I want from a tea and how it should perform. I mentioned the Kent Tea company earlier (I am a regular customer and not affiliated with them in any way) and they offer many different varieties of Earl Grey to try along with other types of tea, Lapsong souchong, Assam, Darjeeling, breakfast, Matcha etc plus a great range of coffees if that's your thing. I definitely wouldn't buy this loose tea again or from anyone else from Amazon again.I hope this helps you decide if this tea is for you.

Best Earl Grey? Yep. Update: Lack of consistency.
I have tried earl grey from Harrods, Fortnum and Mason, Tea Palace, M&S, other online retailers. Whilst I like Harrods one a lot, I go back to this Simpli-Special blend over and over. Highly recommended.Update: I bought another 500g six months later and it was rubbish. It tasted earthy, like the bergamot had gone off. Contacted the company and they tried to get a new batch from their supplier but it was the same. Had to go back to Harrods...

Nice but bitter
I am very fussy tea drinker, so good cup of tea means a lot to me. Unfortunately, I am rather disappointed with this one, as it is has bitter taste to it, it has more green tea flavour than black. It smells nice though. I bought various teas from this company, all were very nice.

So different from shop bought tea
Nicely packaged and an unusual sort of woody taste, initially I thought this is soooooo nice but after a while it seemed to be a little overpowering but I have got around this by mixing it 50/50 with a quality breakfast tea and this now suits my palate. Just me, Im sure other folk may like it as it is so to speak, but do give it a try.

Amazing Tea
This is simply amazing tea at a very affordable price. I purchased a 500g pack and have almost finished it.The package arrive very quickly, and was packed well. The actual product was professionally packed in an airtight bag & once opened you could hear the air escaping from it.What can I say - It just smells wonderfully aromatic exactly as described and what you see in the picture is EXACTLY what you get.The tea had a great flavour and the flowers gave of a scent throughout the whole kitchen. After experiencing tea like this, I will never go back to supermarket tea - this stuff just blows that crap out of the water. This really is tea as it should be and I will be ordering more in the future.

Best so far
what can I say, buy either a teapot with built in infuser or a handy one for just a cuppa, you will never regret conforming from tea bags to loose leaf, taste far superior, as for the variety, this one suits my taste, have tried a few different suppliers of earl grey form Twinings to Teapigs and this is my favourite by far.

Simply delicious from Simpli.
My wife is a tea addict and she loves this variety of aromatic loose leaf tea. A large teaspoon of leaves brewed in a glass pot makes a delicious cup - and the leaves can be used twice making the cost very economical. Always arrives within twenty four hours in a stay fresh pack.

The very best
Absolutely the very best tea I have tasted. You get a hint of the treat to come when you open the package & inhale the gorgeous, complex aromas; it even looks good with the dried cornflower petals showing a lovely violet colour. I'm a true convert & won't be buying anything else - very highly recommended.
