Ok so first off I love this little guy. Super light, super cute and everything I can find I am putting in here to help others who have odd off the wall questions.Assembly:OK so the lid is a simple place on top and slide back to keep it in place, this leaves the small slot open to place the placard of what is inside the machine. When installing that make sure to install it when the lid is off and make sure the lid slides it back and holds it in.Capsules:The capsules will work if they are 48mm-50mm. When searching try Ebay and search for empty 100 yen gashapon capsules and a bunch will pop up. I will give the amount it holds when I get my order in from the city.Price signs:There are 4 small price sign circles for 1¥, 5¥, 10¥, and 50¥. They slide in where the small protruding part is to the left and you can slide it up or down to remove super easy.Coins:As for US coins the following work: NickelsDo not try a quarter or dime. Quarters will have to be pushed through with a thin flat head screwdriver and the dime is too small and gets stuck. Trust me that was not fun. I asked friends for yen and they sent them and I will update this when they come in.Coin Retrieval:A small hole in the back is a pull section to take the coins out. The key is for show upon closer inspection.Overall Review:I honestly love this thing. It's a small little machine that is super easy to troubleshoot and work, it's super light and absolutely adorable. Yes it is more like a toy but for someone who works comic cons and anime conventions this is perfect for the table and to have small things in for sale.Pros:-Super Cute-Super Light-Can change the signs super easy-Can stack them-Easy and fast to remove money and no need for keys-You can get a blank pattern to make your own signs off gashapon.jp/gashaponmachine as well as several other signs that are premade.Cons:-Only comes with 6 capsules and no official supplier for the solid colors on the site.-Took more than instant speed to get to me.

I ordered this after my trip to Japan where I fell in love with Gashapon machines, and I knew I had to have a mini one of my own ! I primarily got this to use at my booth at conventions where I sell my own art and merchandise. I put B grade enamel pins (smaller than 1.75inches) in the capsules (comes with 6 red ones), phone pop-up holders, buttons, and other small misc items I had at random. People who visited my booth LIT UP when they saw I had one of these and they loved playing with it ! It was an absolute hit !It comes with it's own little center graphic card that slides right into the top, but I designed my own with the same specs to match my branding, and it just looked perfect ! It's such a super cute and easy little gashapon machine to use and setting it up was literally a breeze !I had some leftover yen from my trip to Japan, so I used the 1 yen as the token. You have to push it in kinda hard, and it won't go all the way in and drop in like you would expect, so it looks like it got stuck at first, but you just turn the knob and the yen will drop and the capsule will roll out after you crank it !I bought extra capsules and went with the one that amazon suggested you buy and purchase together with this product, and they worked perfectly !Highly recommend to anyone who does artist alley booth conventions like I do ! They're so worth it !

Super cute little toy. More of a coin bank, much less an actual gashapon or coin-operated vending machine. Quarters and dimes get stuck quite easily. This toy made for a great gift, but I'm having a hard time justifying the price.

Honest review is that this is such a great purchase!I wish I knew it existed on amiami.com years ago as I order from them often and the price on amazon was super inflated!I guess it makes sense though because it’s a Japanese official item that can’t be bought on amiami anymore. I feel like it was worth buying even for more money. I keep it on my desk and it’s super cute to play with.I did replace the red capsules bc I didn’t like them. They were fine but I wanted something cuter.

Good things:- it works straight out of the box, no batteries or power required- comes with 6 reusable capsules- form factor is niceBad things:- turning action isn't completely smooth- the coin slot in pictures looks metallic, the actual coin slot is plastic: same plastic as the rest of the machine- the front coin return slot is fake, the pictures make it look like a real coin return slot- the coin slot is tricky to insert coins into: same difficulty described by another reviewer (user: 'macaron' from Japan)You should know:- capsules are quite small, can barely hold a Raffaello- the smallest Australian coin barely fits in the slot (5c)Like the other reviewer said, it's more of a toy coin bank than a proper gachapon machine.

The gachapon machine was top quality, its packaging was minimal but it still came in top shape!Everyone who sees it asks me where I got it from and honestly, cannot speak higher praise for this purchase. The shipment came earlier than expected, which was a really sweet surprise!!One Japan was the sweetest seller, they even wrote a handwritten thank you for the order, would definitely recommend :)))

Whoever says a nickel works is wrong, my friend out a nickel in my machine and now it's stuck and won't work...

A perfect half scale replica of these fantastic machines! Every detail is accounted for; I love it! It is entirely plastic, even the coin slot. Came with six empty red capsules. If you are hoping to put actual Gashapon capsules in this, it should work for the smaller items, but the larger size capsules may not fit. I tried all Canadian coins in it, and it takes only nickels. Loonies, twonies, and quarters are all too big, and dimes get stuck. If you like the design of these machines and want your own, I strongly recommend this product!

Je suis très content de le recevoir dans les temps (Vu le frais de port que j’ai mis pour le recevoir rapidement ils avaient intérêt lol)Je ne suis pas déçu du produit par contre je suis confus du prix affiché par Amazon. Quand je feuillete la facture japonaise le prix est largement en dessous de 100€ avec frais de port. Amazon il le revend je ne sais pas combien de fois plus cher que le prix d’origine. Ce n’est peut être pas le meilleur site pour l’avoir à un prix attractif.Voilà c’est le seul bémol , profitez et ne le regrettez pas, vous avez un GASHAPON personnel !!!!Vivement que je l’offre à la personne concernée!!

Was a bit disappointed the item is clearly second hand and was dirty - after a wipe down with sanitising wipes it came up clean but still has scratches and stickers pealing off.

Got this to add a little fun to the table! I noticed a few of these a few years ago! I was always interested in trying them out.The capsules are 50mm in size, and you only have 6. But you could fit up to 12 capsules if you got extras!I used 10cents to trigger the machine.It's nice and solid. So excited to try it out this year.
