The Adventures of Black Beauty: The Complete Series [Blu-ray]

I remember watching these, I believe it was a Sunday afternoon teatime treat on ITV, picture and sound quality is perfect as it was produced by network in 2022 however since network went bust earlier this year, classic TV compilations may be difficult to find once stocks run out. If you enjoy this it might be an idea to search for it now before it disappears forever.

It was lovely to watch these stories again. They are just how I remembered them when I watched them in the 1970's, not dated but just good old fashioned drama which you don't get on TV anymore. The storylines are just great and Black Beauty is a very special horse that knows when trouble is brewing and helps Vicky, Jenny, Kevin, Albert and Ned out when needed. Dr Gordon and Amy and the Squire and other characters makes the stories come alive. It took me 8 weeks to watch the dvds as I watched one once a week on a Sunday morning which was very nice and calming and they were in perfect condition, so thanks again. Mrs Penney

the adventures of black beauty is a classic early 70's children drama.with this collection you get both series 1 and 2! each adventure is roughly 23 minutes long apart from three two part story's.. unlike most tv series today which seem to cram to much in to the running time and can sometime make them less enjoyable.. black beauty doesn't!I have not long since finished viewing the whole series and have passed it on to my sister so she can watch it with laura (my neice)!on a whole i would give this dvd collection a 5 star rating and well worth the money

It is an enjoyable series that brings lots of pleasure to all those of us who watched it when it was originally shown on our screens. It brings back lots of happy memories. I highly recommend it.

This is just how I remember it, they haven't 'digitally remastered' it or any of that, it's just as it was, straight to DVD which means it keeps that charm, keeps it the way you remember it.Brought back a lot of memories of sitting down on I think it was a Sunday evening, the theme tune then into a classic brave horse and family take down the villain episode.Wonderful if you're a horse lover, and great good old fashioned kids TV from when they knew how to make classics.

This really is a recommended purchase! Every episode from the original early 70s series of Black Beauty.. even now the theme music is so evocative it sends a shiver down my spine, reminds me of going to my nan's for tea then watching this before going home thinking of school the next day! Colours are slightly dull but that's to be expected I think from the film stock. Watch this and find out how good telly was back then!

superb dvd , no collection of classic kids tv is complete without this now rare dvd.Wonderfully evocative of Sunday tea times in the seventies , not restored in any way which adds hugely to its charm.Lovely stories and THAT theme tune , it simply could not be better ,prompt delivery also.

Love it! So thrilled that this is available on DVD now as I loved it as a child. The sound isn't great, low volume, but you just need to turn up the TV and you're transported back to 1972, Judi Bowker, and the black stallion adventures. I watch it every Sunday morning while I sip tea.
