Better than previously thought!
Following my previous review I have upped this product to 4 stars as it does now seem to soak the urine and doesn't smell bad so i didn't give it a fair chance. The balls are too big for hamsters but there are smaller pieces and you can break the larger ones down. That's the only reason it didn't get 5 stars. So I would recommend this product.

Large bag for my hamster!
Excellent product to last my dwarf hamster a very long time - 6+ months. She has a small plastic litter pot to urinate in, to prevent her soiling her white hamster bedding. She uses it all the time, so the cage no longer smells

very good for cats, but my hedgehog might have been eating it
I'd say that it was partial clumping, I put a puppy pad underneath so that absorbed alot of pee moreover than the litter, but I expect it would have absorbed it if it had spread in the base of the pan. slight clay clump of the balls and spooned the affected section out of the litter pan. didn't smell anything.I was recommended to buy this for a hedgehog and the balls were all circular dry balls when putting in the litter pan, but I think she was eating them because the bottom of the pan had alot of broken bits, so I am not going to use again for this application. I did catch her in the night licking them and pushing her hog nose snuffling about and found them around the outside of the pan, also alot of quills in the bottom which makes me think she was rolling about in it. Not suitable for hedgehogs, but I would recommend for cats as they don't behave the same.

Great for Syrians.
I bought this for my Syrian Hamster when it was on special offer so it worked out really cheap for two large bags. The balls are quite big but my hammie doesn’t seem to be bothered about it but he is quite a big fellow.I used to use potty litter which is virtually what it is. The two sizes in the potty litter (small and large balls) it’s the same size as the larger one. It is small balls of clay like substance and does clump which is a good thing as you can pour the unurinated balls to one side and reuse them.I do have to change it more frequent than the potty litter as it does smell after a day or so plus he starts to use his bath if I don’t change it every day or other day.I would definitely recommend it though. It does work out a heck of a lot cheaper even though it has to be changed more often. Mind you, my hamster does seem to drink quite a bit of water, more than any of the others I have had (I have had him checked but nothing is wrong) hamsters tend not to drink a lot.I will be buying again for my Syrian but not sure if it’s any good for smaller dwarf hamsters.

Not for my Gerbils
False economy for me. I bought it as it worked out better value than than the potty litter of the same make. Unfortunately my gerbils don't like the larger granules (they are more like small balls). On the odd occasion they have used it, it's also harder for me to clean i.e. sieve the gerbil poo's out

Great For My Syrian Hammy Ortis
Absorbs urine and any unpleasant smells very well, hamster favour's this brand (I've tried numerous different litters) long lasting and a little goes a long way. In short - does the job it's supposed to do

Hamster toilet
Great value for money

Does the job
This absorbs my hamster's urine well and it turns into a clay-like substance when I clean out his litter tray. This just takes a bit of wiping to clean, which isn't too bad. However, I can still smell some urine when I open his cage, so it doesn't completely eradicate the scent.
