... start off by saying that this is a very beautiful watch, and you can immediately tell that this ...
Update (12/18/2017) - As expected, the movement settled and it is now much more accurate. I am getting between +4 to +6 seconds from daily wear and couldn't be more than happy. I switched the rating from a 4 star to a 5 star rating.Let me start off by saying that this is a very beautiful watch, and you can immediately tell that this is not like your typical Citizen watches. The watch arrived brand new and well packaged. Thanks Amazon! I think Citizen got many things right with the Signature Series and it makes for a really good competition to Seiko Presage line, along with some entry level Swiss watches. Now read on if you would like some more details.Case: The craftsmanship of the case for this watch is extremely well done. The case has many layers of brushed and polished finishing that play with light very well. It catches the light and reflects it back beautifully. The case is very sophisticated looking and has that high-end Japanese design to it. It reminds me of the Grand Seiko, but not quite up to that level yet; I don't expect it to be at this price range. I really like the design of the crown and it is very easy to use when manually winding the watch. I would say the case work is more on par with Seiko Presage Japan Domestic line, which is immaculate and near perfection. I've always come to admire the Japanese when it comes to the details in their watches.Crystal and dial: The crystal is a slightly domed sapphire crystal with a little distortion when turned to the side. Very clear and shiny under the sun. The dial is elegant looking and has many designs that reflect light well. Everything on the dial align well and easy to read the time.Bracelet: I just love how the bracelet looks. In fact, it is the reason why I bought this watch in the first place. Each link of the bracelet is composed of many little parts, with alternating brushed and high polish finishing. Definitely look good and feels comfortable on the wrist. Additionally, the links are held together by screws, which makes resizing the bracelet a breeze. Something of a rare find in the Japanese watch industry at this price point. Now, I wish I can say the same about the clasp. While the clasp is nice looking, the construction quality is below average at this price point. The push button on the clasp feels flimsy and cheap. I hope it will hold up well over time.Movement: I would have to say that the star of the show here is the movement itself. It is beautifully decorated to a very high standard. I love the 28,800 bph and the second hand glides across the dial smoothly. Seiko should learn a thing or two regarding higher beating movement and decorating their movements at similar price point. I am specifically referring to the 6RXX line. People are reporting that they are getting +0 to +2 seconds a day accuracy with this watch. I am getting +10.5 seconds a day, which is not bad, but can be improved. I do expect a little better in the accuracy department, but it is a mechanical device at the end of the day. ***Note: the watch has only been running for two days straight, so accuracy might improve as the movement settles in***Conclusion: This is by no mean a perfect watch, but given its price point (and what Citizen is hoping to achieve with the Signature line), the watch has hit the mark in many aspects. With the elegant design, beautiful blue hands, superior case work, and a comfortable, sophisticated bracelet, this watch should bring much joy to many watch collectors or enthusiasts.

Broken after one year!
I had this watch for one year. It is broken now. It was great as long as it worked.I gave it originally one star because it broke. As I was not wearing the watch more then 2-3 hours a day, I used to wind it manually every day for 13 quarter turns or something like that. Not full turns whatsoever. I recently found out that automatics, although come advertised as handwind able, are not as resilient as the purely handwind watches. Who knew. Alegedly even the swiss made have a weakness in this regard. So I must have abused it although it is nowhere said to not handwind, or to take any sort of precaution. I had to find that information myself.Anyways the watch was very fast repaired under the awesome 5 years warranty, I had only to ship it to the proper adress. Came back very fast. It has been working great since and is one of my favourite watch along my Grand Seiko SBGX061.The watch is very nice looking, has best legibility of any watches I see around and I own couple aviator watches like Stowa Flieger and Speedbird. Lume is very good at night, a beautifull blue, and although al the dots are the same, I have never had difficulties in reading the correct time at a glance during the night. They are spaced just wright or something. The lume dots are very discrete, they don't look out of place for this dressy watch, and don't give themselves away during the day until I step into some darker area and they glow that cool blue. The dial is white or silver sometimes and gives good contrast to the shiny applied markers. Crystal has very good AR coating. the only thing I like less is that the crystal is domed only outside giving the magnifying glass effect that I don't like so much. Other then this I think is a beautifull watch and I am glad I bought it .It is also very precise! I can not submit any data but I am fussy about this, I have a radio controlled watch just to keep al the others within adequate range, and I dont feel the need to adjust this watch. I am constantly looking at other watches, then I take a look at my Citizen Signature Grand Classic and am happy to see it at my wrist.

An honest-to-God luxury watch for under $1000
Even though this watch has been discontinued, there are still some of them out there to buy. CITIZEN has outdone themselves with the "Signature Collection Grand Classic."We're talking about a watch that is built by hand, has an in-house movement and has a bracelet on it that would be the envy of any top-tier watchmaker. Even the polishing is done by hand. The care and effort put into this watch is obvious within 30 seconds of picking it up and looking at it. These are the earmarks of a watch costing thousands of dollars. It has only been four days since I received the watch, but I can tell you that it has gained 4 seconds since I, using NIST, set it. The in-house movement is made by Miyota (CITIZEN owns them). The dial is a thing of joy to look at. It is two different shades of silver and the applied hour markers reflect light beautifully. The blued hands are not only lovely, but make this watch one of the most legible at-a-glance that I've ever seen. Even the date is surrounded by an asymmetrical window that gives this piece even more class. So, we've got a beautiful case, stunning dial, gorgeous blued hands and a bracelet that could easily be on a $10,000 watch. Oh, yeah, forgot to mention the movement again. It is lovely (it is decorated with Geneva stripes and a custom rotor) and freakishly accurate. It can't ALL be good? You might ask, and you'd be right. The lume on this watch is so bad and useless that I don't even consider it as having lume at all.So, there you have it. For the money, you literally cannot buy a nicer watch.
