With almost 500,000 miles between our three vehicles, we try to extend their lives as long as possible. Doing so isn't tricky. Routine at home shade-tree-mechanic maintenance keeps us going and in doing so using quality parts plays a role. Something as small as these little crush washers prevents oil leaking all over the car frame and garage floor. I mean it's just good practice. Why chance the gradual leaching of precious dinosaur syrup all over the floor when you could simply lock one of these down during every change?
