To make it sit more sturdily against the fireplace brick I did the following (see photos):1) Placed extra bricks against the inside supports to add weight/stabiliy.2) Glued rubber shims to the far end of the outside, decorative supports adding a small amount of height which pushed the unit against the brick more firmly.3) Put velcro tape to the back of the magnets tab and the brick (clean the brick well before placing the velcro).Doing these three things made the screen sturdier in place. No having to hold the frame while you open the doors!

This sits flush against our fireplace, keeping the cats out, and is sturdy enough that they don't knock it over. We didn't install the smaller braces because they would prevent the screen from sitting directly against the fireplace. This was a great value for the price.

We bought this to keep our most rambunctious cat out. She would pull apart the existing curtain type screens and dig around in the gravel. Not a good habit. Love the magnetic doors. Ordered some small bar type magnets to attach it to the metal at the top to make it even more secure. We did not use the backside stabilizers because we wanted a flush fit.

This looks fantastic on our fireplace! We are happy with the construction. It feels cheap, but looks nice! We are only using the two decorative legs because we want the screen to sit flat on the fireplace. It works well and is sturdy enough. It would be nice if there was a way to stabilize the top of the frame since the magnets are only at the tops of the doors.I was upset with Amazon for first sending me a broken, dented, used return package with the return label still on the package. Amazon assured me it would not happen again. I would caution that this is not a very sturdy item as the screens and doors seem to bend and dent easily.

I like the design of this screen, which sets it against the face of the fireplace with no gaps, and has doors that can open for access to the fireplace without having to move the whole thing away. It's not heavy duty, but it's perfectly functional, and looks good. Easy to assemble, came complete with all the hardware needed.

The door is closed tightly with a strong magnet. That's what the description says... Well, no so in this case. When closing the door after putting more wood on the fire for the first time this item was installed, the "strong magnet" used to close the doors took me 8 attempts before it would catch. Plan to have leather gloves nearby when adding wood to fireplace because if you don't, you'll burn your hand on the handles. If you plan on using this item for a real wood fire burning fireplace find something else.

Does the jobEasy to move in and out of the way when needed

I was hoping this would have a bit more weight to it, but it's pretty light/hollow/tubular. But still, compared with the (arguably more decorative) traditional fire screen we had, this is much nicer to access the fireplace for cleaning and adding logs. Opening and closing a door beats moving the whole fire screen any day.I couldn't fit the rear feet as there is a slight step between the hearth and the firebox, but that doesn't matter as it is supported by the front wall of the fireplace anyway. I also put some wool pads under the front feet so stop the screen sliding on the hearth (which if it was heavier would be unnecessary).

This looks good but is flimsy. Opening a door results in the whole unit moving and it just doesn’t feel secure. If you’re used to heavy-duty fireplace inserts, this will not feel like that. This is definitely the Alibaba of fireplace inserts.
