loved it
The book is so dark, intense, immersive and gory. Ihe book has quests, buried truths and battles. The truth is dark and the world is dreadful. The author has introduced more characters and the illustrations are so exquisite and phenomenal. The Author has taken the readers once again on the roller coaster ride. The world building is dark, rich and engrossing. Each chapter has unveiled one layer of past while there are infinite layers. And the revelation at the end was shocking. Expect the unexpected. Dark world of Vampires and last silversaint will grip you and won't let you go until the end. There is hopelessness and betrayal.

Lightning in a bottle.
Jay Kristoff simply manages to capture lightning in a bottle with the follow-up to his acclaimed Empire of the Vampire. The story immerses readers in a dystopian world where humanity's survival hangs by a thread. Set against a backdrop of relentless war and an impending apocalypse, Kristoff weaves a gripping tale of resilience, sacrifice, and the fight for hope in the face of overwhelming darkness.Kristoff throws you into the intricate politics and history of the vampire clans, making the whole thing feel even more real in a world on the brink of extinction. The vampires, with their own social hierarchies and power struggles, bring an added dimension to the story, highlighting the complexities of survival and dominance in a world where the lines between predator and prey are constantly blurred. Nevertheless, the vampires continue to be portrayed not as mere creatures of horror but as complex beings driven by their own desires and ambitions. They possess a tragic depth that evokes a sense of empathy. Their existence adds a layer of existential dread to the narrative, as the remaining human factions struggle not only to survive but to retain their humanity in the face of such overwhelming inhumanity. What sets Empire of the Damned apart is its unflinching exploration of human nature under extreme circumstances. Characters are forced to confront their deepest fears and desires, revealing layers of complexity that enrich the narrative. The interaction between humans and vampires is fraught with tension, betrayal, and unexpected alliances, creating a dynamic and unpredictable plot.At its core, Empire of the Damned is a story about resilience and the enduring power of hope in the face of despair. Kristoff challenges readers to contemplate the true cost of survival and the sacrifices necessary to preserve what remains of humanity. With its masterful storytelling, compelling characters, and a fresh take on vampire lore, Empire of the Damned is a must-read for fans of grimdark fiction and anyone who enjoys a thought-provoking exploration of the human spirit in adversity.

Should be put in porn section
The first book got me really excited. Finally something fresh and well thought out. But nearing the end I'm just disappointed. I mean "No time to die" level of facepalm and last season of "Game of Thrones" rage. A gripping story that was reminiscent of LotR, Witcher and Interview with the Vampire gets drowned in hundreds of pages of LGBT porn. I seriously doubt the same person wrote the first book and the second.PS: There are no men with butterflies in their belly.

A dark fantasy
A new view into this genre, refreshing. Great story of the anti hero, well written and thought out. Looking forward to the last book in the series. Well worth a read.
