math, music, comedy and encouragement-great read!
this book is really cool! It rhymes, and just has a very nice sound if read correctly. My husband is great with cadence and sounds like he is rapping it to my son. Very engaging and the illustrations are nice to look at. Even though it contains monsters, they are actually funny instead of scary. I like how it teaches subtraction by one and also how it teaches sportsmanship. It states at the end "If you lost this time, that's okay. You can win this game another day." I think that is a great loving message. I like that it addresses that winning and losing are okay, and that it focuses on fun and the possibility to do better. The author has a great collection of math series and this one is only level one out of the three. I am now a fan of this series and plan on buying them to foster mathematics for my little one.

Music Makes Me Smarter
Thanks for your prompt service. This is a cute monster musical chair story that will help with simple subtraction, and maybe even get students in on the action. I got this book to add to my math library, and already I can see some math interactive action happening as we read this at the beginning of first grade next year. Thanks for making education fun!

a family favorite
Another awesome book that has become a family favorite ~ and bedtime story staple along with Seaweed Soup! I read while my daughter and husband add sound effects for an even more fun story! The bonus... In the end...the little one learns a little something ;) and it makes monsters very un-scary :)

Wonderful book!
This book is a fun, colorful way to introduce math concepts to preschoolers. Unlike other preschool-level math books, Monster Musical Chairs has a cute plot and fun rhymes. It holds my kiddo's attention and has quickly become one of his favorites.

Cute story
My daughter loves this story. It rhymes and teaches math at the same time. This whole series is great. Simple and easy to understand even for a 3 year old, but the lesson can be taught for years. Many different ways to use this book.

Great fun
My primary one class love this book. They’ve asked me to read it several times and it was a fun way to consolidate their learning on subtraction.

They are simply fantastic! Mr
We have most of the MathStart books. They are simply fantastic! Mr. Murphy has a knack for simplifying the concept for little kids and the illustrations are very striking. We read a new one every week and read it once a day (an idea borrowed from a friend). The books also have some activities that go with the concept.
