very good lock, quite heavy but worth it!
Got two sets of them Mini-7 and Series 4. Both are brilliant nothing else to say, locking device is working very well. Somebody already tried to cut the lock!! It only has bin week. But guess what, they litterally only scratch the surface of it, probably after trying for a bit they realised that it's not the lock to cut!!Couple of thing to point out1. Small bracket which you can attach to your bike and then just hang the lock on is very cool, plastic but lightweight and sturdy enough.. at least you dont have to hang the lock in the odd places while cycling!2. There was a 3 key set and one of them came in with the light on the key, this is small but very cool feature, actually does help to open up the lock in the dark.!It's quite heavy thou, but this is the only way to protect your bike in town.... You can easily remove it and store it when cycling out!

Does it come with a FREE Gym Membership?
And if it does not, why not? This lock is (so) heavy, (so) substantial that requires 'guns of steel' (that's biceps, by the way) to use it everyday.Truly a secure feeling lock that should ideally combined with a non-Kryptonite lock to thwart (or at least delay) those pesky bike robbers. The keys (three in total) are firm and solid (but read the instructions: "don't be hasty in twisting the key too quickly"), and the single key LED night-light is a nice touch.I cannot judge on how well the lock's frame mounting/housing works as I have a water bottle attachment in the most suitable location. The lock comes with a UK warranty (lifetime) and an option to either apply for a free key registration or a free £1000 protection for one year (if stolen you are required to submit a UK Police Crime Number, the lock, receipt for bike purchase, etc. to the manufacturer). This is may be useful for some people though a deterrent of a large Official sticker (visible on the frame) and UV permanent marking from the UK Police's free BIKE REGISTER program may be even more useful.Overall, this Kryptonite Evolution Series4 Flex Frame U-Lock is the peace of mind that I was seeking below £35.00 (at the time of purchase on Amazon.co.uk).

This a very sturdy bit of kit
This a very sturdy bit of kit. I'd just bough a £500 ish MTB and decided that my cable lock alone wasn't quite gonna cut it. I turned to the internet and quickly found Kryptonite to be a brand with a good reputation. After deliberating what price point I should by, I turned to this.My first impressions were bloody hell this things heavy although I've never had a U-Lock before. It comes with a few keys, one of which is bulkier than the others as it has the addition of an LED light which I have to admit I do find somewhat useful especially in the dark. The keyhole itself is covered by an orange plastic cover which stops dirt getting in. The lock itself is very sturdy and would require an angle grinder to cut through. My one complaint however is that the actually heavy U-Lock piece itself soon becomes hard to separate from the orange locking piece. This is certainly an issue, but it is combatted with a bit of WD-40 wiped onto the locking parts of the U-Lock as well as where it sits in the orange locking mechanism piece. This never caused any real trouble for me but I can certainly see how other reviewers locks have become jammed. Overall a very sturdy lock which has and continues to serve me well in conjunction with a cable lock. A lock like this is a must have for anyone who wants to keep their bike safe and taking it's small fault into account, I'd certainly recomend it to you.

Solid lock
I've read a few reviews on Amazon and there are a few which were clearly written as a result of not reading the instructions properly! - the silver mount is loose so you can position it correctly for how you carry it on your bike - it can then be locked down with the supplied Allen key. Also, I always give locks a squirt of 3 in 1 oil every few months (including all those round the house) - and something left out in the rain like a bike lock will need regular oiling or - shock- it might get sticky or cease. Common sense really - this seems like a good lock for the money, yes it's quite heavy but it's solid steel so don't want it to be lightweight and easy to cut!!

Waste of time and money
Checked a lot of reviews and only thing that was negative was that the flexframe bracket sometimes moved. Was sure that was just down to poor fitting so ordered anyway. Removed from packaging and tried to slide lock into flexframe bracket. It would only go half way in and then locked solid with friction. Thought that probably once bracket was tightened on the frame things may loosen up but wasn't convinced. ( That was a big mistake. Should have just put it back in box and sent it back). Fitted bracket which was easy and secure and then tried to place lock in mount. It was just the same and halfway in started to tighten and then solid. ( mistake no. 2. Again should have just took it off and sent it back) but no, thought it just wants a little fettle of the aluminum piece. After 1 1/2 hours of filing and cursing it finally slid all the way in only now with all the in and out I have obviously damaged the plastic retaining clip. Had no choice but to try as bike off back to uni with son in the morning. Now got a wonderful £50 paperweight!

Duradero y confiable

Its Strong and Heavy
Its a strong and heavy lock, may be easy to pick but definitely difficult to cut through.

Still going strong after 4 years, and has never let me down. Ignore the other reviews.
I bought this lock when I first got my ebike, and came back to write a review after 4 years and was shocked to see all these 1-star reviews with people that can't seem to get their heads around:a) the limits of ANY U-lock (such as the fact it's rigid and thus not great for things like power poles)b) How to unlock the lock (hint: you push the key all the way in, and turn it)c) All bike locks are deterrents. If you park your bike in a dodgy place, or if someone *really* wants your bike, no lock will stop an angle grinder. At least this one will make it a pain in the ass. With those things in mind, here's a brief pro/cons on this lock after 4 years of use and 6000km of commuting on my bike. I haven't babied it, I've thrown it around and used it like a lock. It's been on the back of my rack all the time, and I've locked it up in some pretty sketchy places to find it always back and working, in the pouring rain, sleet and overnight. The key and locking system are still buttery smooth after 4 years, and although it's beaten up there is physically nothing wrong with it.PROS:+ Beefy security. It's heavy and hefty and a great deterrent. I've come back to see obvious scratches where people have tried to pick the lock, hack at it with some kind of saw and generally try to bend it (which left marks on my frame). I still have my bike 4 years later. I think the other reviews made the mistake of either parking their bikes not next to other bikes (always a good chance the bike next to you will be easier), or expecting this to stop a blowtorch and last for eternity. Locks are deterrents!+ Durability. I have locked my bike in and out of cover, under tarps and in the open rain for weeks on end. I also live near the sea, so I do get a bit more corrosion (I've been through two chains on my bike, for context). No issues with any part of the lock at all, including the key/locking system.+ Length - no, it won't wrap around telephone poles like a folding lock can. But as long as you understand that, it's a great size and length for most poles, bike racks and metal fences. It can be annoying give it isn't a folding/cable lock, but again the U-locks will be more secure than the former.CONS:- Hefty - this lock is a chonk. It's hefty and the frame mount is crap, so it has to live on my back rack. Honestly it doesn't bother me since I prefer the security but it does have to be said.- It's a U-lock - which means that it is rigid and it can't wrap around or through objects. I personally commute around the city where there are plenty of bike racks, metal fences or narrow sign poles for me to lock this up to. If you don't have that luxury, then get a chain or folding lock.- Key system was fiddly on first use: I remember when I first got this lock and I accidentally seized up the lock trying to unlock it. Turns out, it's really easy to half unlock the lock if you don't push the key all the way in *before* turning it. After a few months I got used to it, and I haven't had ANY of the durability issues I've seen from others in the past 4 years. I've always made sure to close the keyhole protector, and push the key all the way in before turning. No issues, but it was a slight curve- Not indestructible - All the photos and 1-star reviews I see are from people whose locks were cut through with an angle grinder or a very, very determined thief and a metal saw. Nothing will stop a determined thief. It's common logic to try and park in a very public, well-lit place, preferably next to some other bikes with crappier locks that are easier to steal. Thiefs are opportunistic, and so if the nice bike next to you has a shitty lock that takes less time to steal, they'll take it. I totally get it, people are mad that their bikes are stolen, I would be too. But that isn't the lock's fault - if you want a near-indestructible lock, get the NYC Kryptonite lock and carry an extra tonne of metal around, or get a frame lock too and multiple U-locks. For me, I just park in a sensible spot, locked to something metal and with the frame lock in my bike too. I've had several attempts on the bike, but no one got even CLOSE to cracking it. Remember kids, angle grinders aren't subtle or quiet. But if you park in a place with no one else around you, it will be.

I just got this the Kryptonite Standard U-Lock, and it's great. Super sturdy and easy to use—no hassle with the lock mechanism. It’s the perfect size to secure my bike, and I feel confident leaving it anywhere. Definitely worth it if you want a reliable lock.
