Ok it's probably Kava, but I'm almost not sure that it even is... but I've had other Fijian Kava out there and it tastes great, not like Vanuatu stuff but still was wonderful in a different way. Immediately wanted my money back when I opened this stuff, it smells strange, it tastes horrendous!!!! I went against tradition and mixed in pineapple juice and it was drinkable, but no numbing effects, no obvious kava chill vibe, just kinda looked at the bag afterwards like.....crap, just wasted my money on a large amount of "kava". Ya live ya learn. So please don't be swayed by the nice price, it was truly horrendous. A true insult to Kava😞

I have been a Kava person for over 3 years. I know all the best techniques on how to prepare the product. I have really tried to like this product but have found it to be very weak and poor tasting. I really gave it a chance also. Prepared in different ways. Just not a good product.

Don’t advertise it as instant if you still have to use a strainer. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen Kava sellers hustle something as instant when in fact it is not. I don’t even think this counts as micro ground. Very very frustrating.

It has a relaxing effect and seems to improve my sleep. The preparation instructions require using a strainer bag so you can leave it in the cup. I also found I could use a teaspoon of powder and dissolve it sufficiently into a cup of boiling water.

At the time of this review the title of the product includes the words "Certified Organic" yet nothing on the packaging anywhere makes reference to any of this being organic. That's why I got this; because it is (supposed to be) organic. Even products themselves that aren't certified will always make reference to the ingredients that are certified so the consumer knows, but nowhere on this does the word "organic" appear.If this was organic I would give it five stars for sure. If you don't care that it's conventional/maybe sustainable with exposure to chemicals then you will enjoy this. As far as kava goes, this one tastes very good. It has a slight sweetness to it, rounded out with some bitterness as you get to the end of the brew. Most kavas I've had are just straight up bitter.Numbing effects on the tongue are almost immediate with the calming effect shortly thereafter. The instructions on the back aren't too clear, especially pertaining to how much water to use and how long to "knead" the kava. I used eight ounces of hot water and kneaded for about a minute.Very nice kava, I just wish it was organic as implied in the product title.
