I got these to use as slow feeders for our very small pups. They work perfectly as they also suction to the floor, so they aren't pushing the bowl around while trying to eat. They are forced to eat much slower, so there is no "gagging." They clean easily with a dish brush. I have not washed them in the in the dishwasher.Update: They are top shelf dishwasher safe. BONUS

We have two Pomeranian puppies, Tig and Chibbs, who are about a year old. Chibbs eats fairly normal but Tig always eats his entire meal in about 15 seconds! So after receiving these then both puppies take about five to seven minutes to eat, rather than 15 seconds to a minute. This has helped to keep down the barking as one dog finishes first and wants what the other one has. My wife loves these and we use one of them for our overweight cat who tends to eat super fast and he is doing better as well. Very happy with this set.
