This fish basket is perfect for outdoor grilling. The basket is stainless steel and very easy to handle. There is a clamp that securely closes the basket when fish is inside. I have not used it yet on the outside grill because it's winter here however, I as soon as spring arrives I will use the fish grill basket. It is a large basket, so it will be great to use the whole fish like red snapper, salmon catfish etc.

This basket works well and is solidly made. It works best when a larger fish or several small fish are put in the basket. The extra bulk keeps the fish from tumbling around inside the basket. It is bigger than I expected but would be ideal for ocean fishing or larger fish like salmon. Spraying the inside with vegetable oil keeps the food from sticking and makes cleanup easier. It also works well for other meats and corn on the cob. It works better on an open fire than on a grill. If used on a grill, it needs to be a larger grill. The product description is accurate. It arrived in two days. I would get it again.

To work with the big fish, my husband, he needed a big grill mate for his catch of the day. The size was as long as his forearm, so it could actually accommodate a whole fish, even if stuffed. But, the restaurant-quality promised was not as anticipated; the stainless steel was sturdy but the hinge for opening and closing was too loose. The support of the finished product, especially a larger fish or meat product, would not withstand removal from the grill just by carrying it with the handle. With no covering or padded handle, there would be a burn safety issue when placing the entire grill basket on the grill grate. The height of the interior was able to accommodate large fish as well as a roast or other meat approximately 4" in height. Due to these issues, there would be hesitation in recommending this product outside of a trained chef or experienced barbeque master.

We all know how easy it is for our fish to fall apart on the barbecue. It takes a little skill. I don’t ever eat beef, so I don’t put steaks on the barbecue, instead it’s always fish. So I was excited to see this little gadget. I love how it’s shaped like a fish, you could even display it if you have a spot for it. Keeps your delicate fish intact while it cooks!

I've experienced several frustrating fails when trying to cook a whole salmon, so I got this to keep everything together and not stuck on the grill plates as has happened in the past. It worked to perfection!! This made handling the cooked salmon so much easier. My family was surprised when I delivered the fish to the table without being super annoyed as I was in the past.
