Money saver
While these Fence Post Repair Stakes Kit - Heavy Duty Steel Wooden Fence Post Repair Bracket Anchors aren't cheap they are very reasonable when compared to new posts and stringers. The quality is good and the supports are very strong. It also helps that they can be used by a woman, who has to wait for help, to fix something that could become a real problem it the fence blows down. I plan to purchase a few more, especially one for my tortoise yard. It would be impossible to take down his fence for repair and try to keep a 120lb tortoise inside. I could pound this in, probably in under 2 minutes, after giving him some food to occupy him. These supports could save a lot of time and money.

Poorly packaged - and after looking at them, I'm glad I don't need them for my fence posts.
So - right off the bat, they arrived with the end of the box almost completely torn off. There was a sticker on the box that said heavy, but, my wife easily carried them downstairs to my workshop. I don't know if the sticker was put on by the seller or by UPS.I bought these for my mailbox, which leans over every time it gets hit with snow from the snowplows.Where I live the ground is about 6 inches of topsoil, and then sand. I could probably push these stakes into the ground by hand if I was a few pounds heavier and a lot younger. I was able to tap them into the ground with a standard carpenter hammer. I can't imagine them keeping a six foot fence post standing straight in a 20mph wind. I'm curious to see what angle my mailbox will be at the next time it snows, and the plows come through.

Good fix
This won't make that fence that is falling down last another 15 years. But it will repair that post that rotted out or broke but the fence itself has some life left in it. That's all I need for now. Just to keep the fence standing until the whole thing can be replaced. This kit comes with all but the power tools needed, and maybe a sledge. It is heavy duty but the part in the ground will begin to corrode as inevitably the powder coat finish will mar when it is being driven down. Again, not a permanent fix, but a more economical fix until the fence can be replaced.

Works but couldn’t get the bracket flush w the ground
We finally got the opportunity to work on our fences and gates over the holidays. We installed this fence post bracket on a portion of our fence that holds a large exterior gate. Our goal was to stabilize the fence so we could repair the gate and move the big rock we’ve been using to keep that gate closed. We were successful but it certainly wasn’t textbook. The fence was installed by a crew who loved BIG concrete footings so we had to add a 4x4 to the shaky post with 6” screws, and this post bracket was attached to that added support. We are pretty savvy DIY home repair folks, but this install was challenging. First, pounding the pointed bracket into the ground resulted in the top of the bracket getting slightly deformed which meant the L bracket didn’t easily slide into the channels of the pointed bracket. Also, getting the bracket perfectly square to the post and flush to the ground was impossible, so the bracket install is wonky looking. It works, but it’s not a thing of beauty. At the end of the day, we were able to stabilize the fence, repair the gate and move the rock.I am a fan of the result, but the design of the bracket and installation process needs some effort to make it work a bit better.Last note: my package did not include instructions, but all of the hardware plus the nut drivers were included.
