The gold piece would need to have a hole and a threaded piece or screw coming out the top (tapered end) to be compatible with my set up. Hoping I can adapt it to make it work.

I needed to replace my crappy factory shift knob that had fallen apart. First, removing that was a complete PITA. Then I realized I needed an adapter for any replacements. I made sure I filtered by my vehicle and all the things to get the best potential putcome. No bueno. This adapter was too small to get on the existing shifter. On a different item I saw someone had actially drilled one out to make it fit, so that's what I asked hubby to do. He took it to work and put it in a vice and used a 37/64 drill bit to widen it. Due to the aluminum, it got pretty scratched up, but we were then able to get it on and scren in the set screws and get my new shifter on. I'll use a little paint and touch up the black where it got scratched up and it will be way better than before. I'll add some pics once I get it all set.
