Toxic: A Dark Romance

Amazing book! So spicy with an actual plot line, i couldn't put it down. I can't wait to read whatever else she has written!

So this book started off great, I loved the characters, the way they connected, everything really... But then Gracin ruined it by using her. The ending was not bad, it's just I don't understand how she could forgive him after everything. Still, it's a good read and I really enjoyed the author's writing!

It was a good book. The plot was there. I do think it dragged on just a bit. There was no spice and it’s definitely a slow burn. I was disappointed with the ending and think it could’ve been written better as it still leaves you with questions. If you like slow burns with just a handful of intimate scenes and violence then this may be the book for you.

This was a great story. I loved Gracin and Tessa. It had a little bit of everything. I really felt for our FMC, being abused by her husband, having this connection with a big, bad inmate. Then to have him force her to help him escape from prison her life gets thrown upside down. She runs and gets kidnapped and tortured. Then Gracin shows up and saves her. He takes her to his house and basically keeps her locked up for her protection. They suffer loss, revenge and finally get their HEA. It's a wild ride and I could not put this book down. I laughed, cried, yelled and cheered them on. It was a great read and my first Nicole Blanchard book. I'll def be checking out more of her books

Tessa and Gracin meet while he’s an inmate at the prison where she works as a nurse. She’s currently married to an abusive man, but finds herself attracted to Gracin even though she tries to convince herself not to be. Gracin seems to be the only person who really sees hers, always noticing when she's in pain or comes to work with a new bruise. It's been a long time since Tessa has felt seen.After helping Gracin escape from prison, Tessa leaves her husband and runs off to LA to hide. However, Gracin finds her anyway and she becomes his prisoner as he tries to protect her from the bad men who are after him and who won’t hesitate to harm her to get to him. Tessa finds herself falling in love with Gracin the more she gets to know him, despite the fact that he’s not a good person. Gracin definitely has the “touch her and die” vibes going on.'Toxic' is a gripping and intense dark romance novel that centers around the unlikely relationship between a convict named Gracin and a nurse named Tessa. While the book features some steamy scenes between the two main characters, it is important to note that there are trigger warnings that readers should be aware of before diving in. In particular, there is a scene of dubious consent that some readers may find uncomfortable or distressing.Despite these warnings, 'Toxic' offers a compelling and emotionally charged story that will undoubtedly keep readers on the edge of their seats. The chemistry between Gracin and Tessa is palpable, and the author does an excellent job of building tension throughout the novel. Based on its plot and steaminess, I would give 'Toxic' a rating of three and a half stars. While it may not be for everyone, those who enjoy dark romance with a bit of edge will likely find it to be a thrilling read.

This book was exactly what it said it would be. A woman from an abusive marriage fell in love with a convict, and he took full advantage of the darkness he saw in side of her. However, it also forced her to stand up for herself. Nothing about this book is a love story but isn't a bad story. "Apparently, this man made it his mission to cross all the lines"

How do I start this…This was so well written and such a short story. I want more of them.The miscarriage was hard, I didn’t read the TWs and I may it have read the book if I did, but I’m glad.Because the story and the visceral emotions it evokes were worth it.

The writing was o-kay, but plenty of things didn’t line up and you can see where they were attempted to be covered up in a very poor way. Story line was rushed and super predictable, nothing surprising. I literally rolled my eyes when you find out she was pregnant. It started off pretty good, but I got more disappointed as it went. By the end I was glad it was over. 😕

I really enjoyed this as it ended up being quite different than I thought it was. There was different twist that I did not see comming and the character development totally went I different direction than I would of guessed. Will be reading more by this author.

Couldn’t keep this book down no matter how hard I tried. I love morally gray characters, this one stretched it further!

Well, I really enjoyed this. Abused wife. Sexy inmate. Twist. Aholes and revenge. Shes a friggin fighter and I love that about her. Only downfall with this…. it wasn’t longer. 😂 Us readers are never happy. I would of loved Danny to suffer more. I’d love to see more of them and their time together. The smutt wasn’t ott, but reflected them well enough. Well written and an easy read. Started & finished today. I couldn’t put it down.

I was rooting for these 2 from the start. The dark nature of this book was so enticing and alluring I just couldn’t put it down for long.
