A budget esk8 for experienced riders
I found this longboard deck has a slight ‘convex’ shape but absolutely no deck flex due to the rigid battery frame shape. Surprisingly, this is a somewhat light electric skateboard design in comparison to others. I’m quite a fan of its overall ‘arrowhead’ deck shape too. The carry handle is a nice addition, very handy but needs wrapping with insulation tape to stop the griptape from shredding your hand… Overall longboard deck is 38 inches.Comes with a USB charging cable, (for your remote) the standard skate-tool, plus the US and EU/UK charging plug adaptors for the charging block and a slightly confusing manual… Please note the electric skateboard and its remote will need ‘syncing’ before actual usage. (They won’t work until you do) Some arrive ready to use, this didn’t. Expect a long charge first time before use.The remote uses a one button approach to all commands; the forward/reverse, on/off, and the gear changing which can only be done once every time you switch the remote on before riding. Regardless the remote has a nice ergonomic fit, even uses a subtle exhaust baffle trim on the sides. Thumb throttle is a bit tiny, easy to lose with armoured gloves. Doesn’t come with a wrist-strap so you might want to make or adapt one as a safety measure. Remote charges fully in fifteen minutes, board battery charges fully in 4hrs from an empty charge. (Don’t recommend you do this though...) but usually a 3hr 30mins charging time when the remote indicator goes into the red/below 25% charge.Removing the various stickers was difficult especially the very large ones on the board’s battery, wasn’t entirely successful at this… Both the board’s on button and charging port are underneath the rear truck/motors and the charging port lacks any dust cover. Doesn’t use a USB charging port on the electric skateboard either. This electric skateboard has two speed functions, one is a comfortable 8mph+, the other is a higher torque one that goes to 18mph with my 6ft tall self. Unfortunately, one thing that holds this electric skateboard back is the slight delay to both its braking and acceleration curves. This can be a bit scary on hills or during that slight wait before take-off. This is not for the faint of heart, let me assure you of that. This board is for more experienced riders and requires a lot of practice, no excuses. The motors themselves do have a slight rolling resistance, but contain the most impressive climbing ability I’ve ever experienced on an electric skateboard in this price-range; I’m talking level-4 25% hill gradients! I’m in awe at that, truly. This system doesn’t use a regenerative brake function either. And surprisingly, it uses very thick metal motor covers and mounting brackets. (These can sometimes be made of weaker thin metal or plastic…) On first impression I found the dual belt-driven motors to be a bit noisy, scary, and not very discreet for quiet neighbourhood riding. The overall range I got based on various hills whilst using the higher speed setting was 8-10miles, found its carving ability is better at the higher speeds but needs the kingpin/truck nuts to be quite loose for this. (That will improve turning capability too, very helpful) Does feel strange due to lack of any deck flex though, but that feeling will pass with more riding practice. As for the remote, the instructions are a bit complicated to say the least. Here’s a simple explanation. 1. When you initially switch on your remote this is the time to change the speed settings, press once to switch between high speed (red) and beginner speed (green) Once you’ve switched on your board and done a throttle burst this function will be disabled. 2. To change between forward/backwards drive motions press the remote button once. After using this for 40+ miles I’ve found the belts have started to wear, a normal occurrence for belt-driven electric skateboards. These will last for some more miles but it’s worth realising this is what some maintenance will be for riders of belt-driven electric skateboards. Thankfully, these are only £12 for a pack of two on Amazon. I guess I’ve been riding mine a little too hard during my first week especially on hills and the road… Overall, I’m impressed but recommend this one be used with due caution!I'll keep you updated on the longevity of this electric skateboard too.

Great fun - well made with long lasting battery
I bought this as a birthday present for my son and it is awesome. It's really well made and so far the battery life has stood up to hours of use. It takes a bit of practice to get used to but once you get the hang of it then it's great. I've had a few goes on it and it's lots of fun and easy to manoeuvre. My son (and I) absolutely love it!
