I guess it's different for each animal. I got what I thought was the correct size and it fits head and body wise, but the legs aren't really fitting. They are too short and also they are too tight. They have added scrunched fabric making it even more tight in the arms. I can alter it because the hood and back part does fit. I would recommend you measure your dog first before you purchase.
