Great chain and much easier to get one prewaxed than to have to strip a standard chain. Really happy with it.

Contrary to marketing pictures shown by Silica, the chain will arrive quite grimy and caked full of wax in all crevices.I imagine for the price tag of $125, the quality would be a bit less rushed.If you are someone who wants to start with a new waxed chain like I did, I am looking into DIY options using Silica's StripChip and hot melt wax.

Looks like they were pulled out of the wax and dried on their side in a pool of wax. I opened and re waxed and hung to dry. Hope the cleaning wasn’t as half baked as the waxing.

I've stripped and waxed my own chains before and I like a solution that comes ready (especially the stripping part). I will rewax the chain in the future as needed with the silca wax. This chain came with lots of wax on the face of the chain in between the chain links. It takes a ton of work getting the chain to a state where it stops jumping on the rear cassette and it makes a large mess. They could have done a better job at pulling the chain out of the wax before it was too thick.

Not sized properly, not unbroken. The chain was too long.They shouldalso allow the chain to cool down with the rivets parallel to the ground to allow excess wax to drain from the chainlinks. They coil the chain on its side which leaves tons of wax in the links and all over the outside.

I can’t believe this is what got past there quality assurance. Way too much wax, and looks dirty. I’m not sure all the grease was taken off first. I did a better job the first time I waxed my own chain. It was time for a new chain on my bike so I thought I might as well get one that was pre-waxed. I’m going to have to clean the excess off before it can be used. Not happy with this product at all.

Mine skips due to too much wax causing inflexible links. Will not buy again.

Installs easily, skips having to buy a new chain and clean it, prepare it for waxing. Can top it up with silka secret blend drip wax. Eventually will need to buy the pouch of wax.Good choice for those without an ultrasounic cleaning unit

Listen to the reviews about too much wax or a poor wax application. They are correct. I thought it looked fine and maybe the excess would fall off when riding. I was wrong - the chain lasted maybe 250km before it started getting noisy. Very disappointed. Most SILCA stuff is great but this one is a miss.

Great product, but the wax was a bit smooth when I opened the package, I suspected contamination. When I had to clean it for a rewax, (hot water bath) the chain still had a oil/contaminent on it and I had to use a good amount of degreaser to clean it totally. That is very abnormal coming from a quality brand like silca fully dedicated to their product.
