A Super Bit of Kit
So our 55 inch tv is quite high on the wall. Missus said that would it be a good idea if the screen would come down so it's more at eye level. I was sceptical.I searched for brackets but could not find anything. Then the better half came up with this one. It looks good.It is a heavy bit of kit that requires 6 big bolts in the wall. If you are not DIY savy then you probably need some help to fit it.A few points to note ....Our old bracket had a hole in the middle that went over the socket. This bracket does not. This bracket now covers the socket that we used to use.The bracket uses a "figure 8 electrical cable". This came with a European Lead, so if you are in the UK you need to purchase your own (not much from Amazon). Worth trying to work out how long you will need.As this also needs its own mains power supply, you might need to consider a mains splitter or extension cable with multiple sockets (one for the TV and one for this). The installation instructions are quite good. However, where it tells you to position the bracket is not super accurate as it depends on your tv and where the brackets on the reverse of the tv end up in relation to the bracket. But then if you replace the tv then the position may be correct.Once the bracket was up, we had to figure the best way to hide and hold the cables. Took a couple of days and some small Amazon orders to get the correct length figure 8 cable and extension socket. We also removed the optical cable from the soundbar and made it Bluetooth. The operation is slick. There are 2 buttons to set the saved location of the tv. Our position 1 is set so that it is just above the Sky box so that we can still do Sky with the remote. There is a position 2 that we are not using. Press the OK button and the screen goes back up to the top again. When the TV is up and retracted, the TV back is about 6 inches from the wall. With our old bracket it was about 2 inches.Added benefits:As the TV comes down it positions away from the wall, this allows for 2 things:We can connect things t the back of t he TV really easily (games consoles, etc)Dusting: We can make sure the back of the TV is clean and free from dust.As I said I was sceptical at first. Now I love it.

Great whilst it worked
Study and works well. 3 weeks later, TV rises very slowly, much slower than usual. Next day it won't move at all. Broken after less than a month. No troubleshooting or guidance available from manufacturer.
