The Beast King's Bride: 1 (Of Lions and Roses) Paperback – 20 Feb. 2023

Isabella and The Beast King have a lot to overcome before their Happy ending. I enjoyed all the characters and mystery involved in this Fantasy Romance Story.

You can tell this was once on Vella but as the book progresses that becomes much less obvious, thankfully. It was a nice retelling of Beauty and the Beast, with some almost direct quotes/nods to the animated film (which didn’t bother me), but enough unique elements to make it feel, well, unique.I think my biggest beef was please decide if you are going to talk in an old fashioned way or in a more modern way and stick with the choice. Some word choice “felt” older and some felt much more current, and the going back and forth was jarring.I’m glad I tried this first book, but I don’t think I’ll continue. I think there is potential for good things from this author one day.

It's a retelling of a classic story but with shifters and magic! Loved every second of it! I hope there's going to be a second book!
