I've been wanting to try out jelly cup paints for a while, so I was thrilled to pick up this set and have a go at them. I love these paints! Admittedly I'm quite new to gouache (I paint predominantly with watercolour, so it was a fun challenge to get to grips with new paints)! The palette is really cute - it's nice to have one that isn't just plain white. I liked the range of colours it came with; it wasn't difficult to mix if I wanted a particular shade, but, equally, I felt that most of what I'd want to use was well-represented by the palette anyway.Another lovely thing about the lid of this set is that it's lined with a mixing tray that you can pop out. It has six mixing wells in it. I thought that was the perfect amount; even better that you can pop the tray out and use it without having to keep it in the lid like some other paint sets I have.The paints are thick and well pigmented; again, this was very fresh for me, as I'm used to slowly layering up colours. I found that the colours were really vibrant and a lot of fun to work with. The paints DO dry out eventually - but they are water activated, and they're very receptive to it. After a week or two of disuse, it wasn't difficult to get the paint ready for use again.If you're wanting to try out jelly cup paints, I'd really recommend this set! I think it's great for the price you pay.

The media could not be loaded.  I have been playing with gouache since last couple of months and I do have some professional quality gouache. I wasn't expecting a lot from this. However I am pleasantly surprised. The set comes with 18 colours. All individually packed. Removing each plastic cover was quite a task. I didn't throw away the plastic lid, put them away to dry and afterwards transferred to another palette.The colours are very vibrant and opaque. Unlike some other paints that I've used , these rewet quite easily. They are easy to work with wet/or dry.Like I said I'm pretty happy with them. Except for the smell- which was totally unbearable as I was removing the covers. However the dried paint didn't have any unpleasant smell..I'd say these are a very good value for money.

I have shown just the blues in the photo but the rest of the colours have the same body and matt finish. They are very bright with a lot of pigment. The thickness of the paint is very like that of oils so that you get a texture when you apply it and you can use the brush to build up and shape layers so that it is almost in three dimensions. Oil gives less of a matt finish, and so they are not completely equivalent but if you are ofter heavy body without the solvents this is a possible solution. I also show how the colours work when used as a wash with considerable dilution. They give good coverage and the colours are even brighter. This is a great set for an amateur or someone who wants to experiment with a new medium as the price is low and I have seen similar jelly cup sets at double the price.

This set was larger than I expected it to be - which isn't a bad thing! The lid clips off completey to reveal a tray of paint pots. There is no indication of the colour of the paints within each pot, besides some faint text printed at the very top. To be more sure of the exact colour tone, you need to pull the pots out on the tray - they slot in quite rightly however, and the edges of the pots overlap so it is a bit of a challenge to remove them.Inside the lid of the tray, there's a small plastic palette that you can clip out which is handy. The lid *doesn't* have a silicone ring around the edge to ensure the tray is sealed airtight, so I'm unsure how long it will take for the paints to dry out once opened. I'll have to update when I find out.So far the quality of the paint seems quite good though.

Perfect box, it's quite hefty, so you get a lot of paint. The colours are very beautiful. 5/5

Fantastic value set of gouache paints. Lovely selection of colours. Would be better if the pots had lids.

For the money, this is a remarkable set of jelly gouache paint. It produces lovely, vibrant, buildable and blendable colour which has a nice velvety matte finish without any streaking - and is very easy to work with. As I'm sure many others have already said, it's a pity the individual pots are not resealable to slow the rate of drying out ... but then this type of colour is pretty easy to revive, being water-soluble.It comes in a very robust and practical box too. For the price - an excellent collection of jelly gouache pots.

I am so happy I took a chance and purchased "Art + Soul" Jelly Gouache. I have been wanting to try jelly gouache since it went viral. I found Art + Soul for a great price with another discount which was half the price of a more popular brand of jelly gouache. When I received my package, it was packaged neatly and there were no defects or paint leakage. When I checked out the bottom of the jelly cups, I was so happy to see that this jelly gouache is manufactured by "Miya"!!!! I included pictures of the paint cups.*I will update this review after I paint some swatches of the colors and make a few paintings with this paint.

This paint is so beautiful. I received mines about a week ago and I'm already trying to buy more. You won't be disappointed.

Ease of use and storage for a 6 year old. Thin for wash or thick opaque look this is a win for us.
