According to amazon fit. this should work on my 2002 330xi, but it doesn't fit in the steering column you must angle it in between the open and close position, but then it also does not have the correct chip so you cant program it. whether it is the seller telling amazon that it works with e46 or just amazon, somebody messed up and this was useless.

Initially, this didn't work. But after I filed the notch in the right forward part, it worked great. You all need to trim a little bit on the inside so that you don't have to push the key in so far. to click it closed.

Even though this was an Amazon confirmed fit the blade is too short to start the car. It programed ok but fob itself is too wide for the ignition lock cylinder. Other than it couldn't start the car everything else worked ok.

The media could not be loaded. The design on this key doesn't allow for it to lock closed easily. You have to use something else to push it back far enough into the case for it to lock in the closed position. Too much of a hassel for me to keep. I'm going to return it. You can see what I mean if you watch the video I posted. Hopefully I save someone a little time and money. Goodluck.
