Wouldn't mind paying more for higher quality assets
I've resently bought this along with all 4 of the other major expansions to this game. And I have to say it definitely does what it sets out to do.The boxIt is diveded up into a set of columns, 1 can easily fit over 20 character decks (also comes with dividers so decks don't get mixed up), another I'm mainly using for gold storage and tokens for characters that use them. And a 3rd column for drink decks, character play mats and sea events (which came in expansion 4). Leaving one column for future characters. It seems sturdy enough but I feel like I may end up making my own holding unit in the future as the box is quite large (A3 sized and about 10cm wide) and heavy. Since it's very hard to fit in a bag I feel like it could benefit from a breafcase style handle.Character mats and dividersThe dividers are made of card and are a bit floppy, I'd prefer some sort of hard plastic or similar.Similar complaints can be made about the materials of the character mats. I like the art work and detailing of characters who have special actions, but they are made of a very thin card which I feel like someone could easily rip or break by accident. (I tend to use the original tougher ones now)CharactersEach of the 4 characters in this expression feel unique and different enough from other decks that they feel worth it.

A huge add-on with space for all your existing characters.
I've been a fan of the Red Dragon Inn series for a little over a year now, and the newest addition continues the trend, giving us a nice mix of characters, and a huge box to contain all of the existing content. (And space for any future sets!)The box itself is pretty big, and has been designed to hold all of the existing sets in one single box. Inside, the box is split into 4 rows, 3 rows are completely open for you to store your characters in whichever order you like, and contains 10 foam blocks, along with a divider for every existing existing character, and each drink deck (It even has a divider for the 'Gambling? I'm in!' game)The 4th row is split in half. One half has a number of sections, one to hold all of the character placemats, one for the health & drink tokens, and another that can be used to hold the additional rules for the allies characters, along with some of the extra, 'character specific' tokens. The other half of the row has 2 bags contained, one of these can also be used to hold the various tokens, while the other is perfect for holding the coins used in the game. That characters themselves are a nice mix.First off, you have Sera the Fleetfooted and Joran the Trickster. Both are beginner friendly characters, much like the characters from the 1st and 2nd games, they have no special mechanics, but have a solid selection of cards, so are very suited for people looking for an easier/simpler game.Next we have Zakhan the Drunken Master. Whenever his alcohol level is increased, you can also choose to increase his 'drunken chi', which makes some of his cards more effective. He has a nice gambit type of system, as while his drunken chi makes him more powerful, it also makes it easier for him to be knocked out, so you have to look for the right times to increase and decrease your chi. Finally, we have Lizwick the Collector. Lizwick comes with a side-deck that represents her bag of goodies, every so often a card in your hand will allow you to use a piece of equipment, some items can be good, some can be bad. While these extra cards can give you an advantage, the downside is that the more pieces of equipment you have out as once, the smaller your hand-limit becomes. If you are familiar with Wizgille the Tinkerer from RDI3, Lizwick will feel fairly familiar to you.One of the downsides of the box, is that due to how the cards are meant to be laid out inside, there doesnt appear to be enough space for all of the original player mats contained in the previous titles. They have worked around this slightly with the inclusion of character-specific player makes for all the existing characters, but it does seem to be a shame that you cant really fit these boards in.The other downside would be the size of the box itself. Due to this being designed as a means to store all the current characters and pieces in a single box, along with many future characters, the box has ended up being quite large, taking up roughly the same area as a pack of A3 paper. The box has been built to be pretty sturdy at least, bu you may struggle to find somewhere to store the whole thing!in all, despite the minor issues I have with the size of the container, this is still a great game, and is definitely worth taking the time to have a look. While I'd recommend RDI 1 or 2 for new players who want to see what the fuss is about, I would say that this is an essential purchase for those who are fans of the series.
