works on certain applications
On certain types of doors they work great. It’s a good tool to have for an emergency but many types of door locks this “shove knife” type tool just won’t work. Especially with deadbolts and doors with trim or anything else covering the crack between the frame and the door. It’s something for the toolkit but not the only one you should have. When seconds count in an emergency it’s good to have many options.

Could be useful
This is something nice to have around as it could be useful.

thin lightweight and effective if...
These will work for many doors... if they open towards you and you can get the tool into the crevice. IF you can and if the latching isn't properly set then this works a charm and poof your in.

Good shove knife.
This is a good shove knife. The steel is a little more rigid than I expected; which is good for some applications, but bad for others. No tool of this nature will work in all scenarios; but this is one that belongs in your kit.

Great tool to have for building maintenance
This is a simple pry tool that works very well on certain type of latches and doors. Basically you use this tool to push in the door latch on a door that opens towards you. It works on most latches and doors but will not work on certain latches. It's thin but pretty strong and it's a great tool to have in your toolbox along with other tools.

Career firefighter's perspective
As a career firefighter, I think I can provide actual insight to this product. This is definitely my preferred shove knife when compared to a traditional one. Traditional shove knives can only be used in one manner, this one has at least two ways to compete respectful entry into a structure or room.It is pretty darn sturdy as well, not flexible in the slightest. Definitely some quality metal. If you're going to train on respectful entry, get this shove knife. It is definitely better than any other I have messed with
