It's a weird looking gizmo but if you want to do some great garnishing when you serve your meals this so easy I use it for scallions but I also do basil and other herbs that need to be finely done. It's inexpensive, easy to use, no moving pieces to break. I love it. The only reason I didn't give it a five was it didn't cross cut scallions as shown - but that could have been me? Would have been nice to have some instructions with it.

This certainly was a mistake.....I started out by trying it on simply slicing green onions.....it only ripped them up....no clean cuts at all....so I decided to return it and was so difficult to clean I almost returned it dirty....I ended up getting it clean with a toothbrush.....lesson learned....

I wanted something that could slice a scallion tangentially but all this does is "squash" the scallion pieces between the knives and smashes the scallion. Do not recommend if you want to slice a scallion.

This nifty little slicer saves me hours in the kitchen.. just a great product
