Over 1000 miles in 2 months!
I absolutely love this bike, I bought it as an upgrade from the cheap totguard e-bike I started with last year. (31 y/o 5'10 185lbs, moderate/slightly above-average fitness)PROS-Pedal assist feels good the whole time, it feels better to pedal than it does to throttle even with assist modes. I feel like I'm an enhanced rider and not like I'm being 'taken for a ride' (but with throttle you can do that too!)-Way more comfortable than my last bike, I can ride 2-3 hours before my butt gets sore and with one modification (listed in cons) my shoulders don't get sore for the entire ride.-Battery life will last plenty long for casual rides, especially if you stay on assist level 1 or 2 primarily-Looks great, not too gaudy.-Feels safe, I rarely go over ~23mph but I've had no issues with breaks or sharp turns.-It 'feels' really good to ride. You can choose your level of effort while using the motor to dictate your speed in relation to that.-Pedal Assist 1-3 is the sweet spot for me, 15-22mph average while pedaling.CONS-I didn't like the height of the handlebars, so I bought a $15 extension stem and now it's super comfortable on my shoulders.-Replacing the fat tires is very difficult at first, you'll want to buy some tire irons to help with the process-Tires go flat easily, 1 goathead will kill your tire slowly. Bought off-brand self sealing 26x4 tubes and haven't had a flat that using my pocket air compressor with wouldn't fix. (even when I hit a shard of GLASS) (Didn't have to take the tires off again after the first replacement)-Battery doesn't last QUITE long enough for me, if you set it to pedal assist 5 (max) you get about 20 miles or 1 hour out of a charge. If you set the pedal assist to level 1 and use the throttle sparingly you can get >=40 miles on a charge which for me is usually average 14.5 miles an hour and I get about a 3 hour ride (moving time) on that. On days off I really just want to stay out 5+ hours on it cuz it's so fun to ride. I have not attempted a ride using only the throttle (caps at 19.8miles an hour) but I would BET it goes somewhere from 20-30 miles on a charge without pedaling based on experience.-Pedal Assist 4 & 5 are where the bike starts to lose some of its charm. If you want to go super fast for a minute it's fine but the pedaling stops feeling *as* good when you get over 27mph, and it EATS the battery fast to use them.-Bike begins to lose strength at lower battery levels. Once you dip under ~50% you won't be able to reach top speeds anymore. I'd recommend you try to get to your charger around 15-30%I can't get off this thing, I ride 1.5-2 hours every day and I really love it. I recently purchased a 1200w 60AH bike thinking I wanted an upgrade from this one and it's honestly TOO powerful. If you're wondering what the sweet spot is, it's probably the 750W 15-20AH range like this Velowave offers. Maybe consider a second battery and a rear rack to carry it if you're like me and want more range. And you might want to buy two of them so you can bring somebody with you cuz you'll want to be on this thing all the time.

The assist is awesome
I love the pedal assist power the most. The brakes can be a little better and not quite so noisy but totally happy with the performance and battery time. Up hill is a breeze in the 5 assist setting. A little hard on the bottom but otherwise a pretty smooth rideUpdate 9/27The tires are crap! I have the Ranger and Ghost and my girlfriend and I went off road for a couple minutes and some small thorns popped both tires on both bikes. They want $49 for inner tubes each!!! That’s where they make the money! This sucks. And no return policy. Makes sense, who wants to take crappy stuff back when you could just keep the money! I’m not happy at all!!! More to come

Plenty torque
Great ebike, easy to finish putting together, even comes with nice tool kit, I did charge the battery first and used blue thread lock on everything I put together, ck all the bolts for tightness. Rides pretty good right outa box but I dialed it in to fit me perfect, like seat handlebars, brake levers, tire air, I like fork preload backed out counter clockwise for softer off road ride, and it has plenty torque for anything I do. Came with Logan hydraulic breaks and they work fine, I've found in the past Tektro brake pads are compatible with Logan. Shimano shifter works fine. I charge the battery around 40 miles according to the gauge its used up about 1/2. I like it think its pretty good ebike for the price.

Awesome affordable e-bike - UPDATED! Stood behind Warranty
The media could not be loaded. My wife and I have had these for over a month now and are completely impressed! We have about 100 miles on each and, like a lot of reviewers have said, if you keep the assist on level 1, the battery lasts and lasts. But, if you need the extra push due to inclines or hills, the extra levels of assist are simply amazing. We have been to South Mountain State park (the largest in NC) twice in the last month with 20+ MTB miles each trip out. The MTB trails have some extreme elevation changes and rocks and roots and gullies and I have pushed a REGULAR bike many times through some of the rougher stuff. With these bikes, I managed between 6 and 10 mph up the same steeeeeep hills. I do NOT use the throttle but use 2nd or 3rd gear with a 3 or 4 assist level - I find that this works GREAT!I will update after some additional mileage.UPDATE - UPDATE - UPDATEA day after posting this, the rear brake caliper on my wife's bike started leaking at the seams making the back brake useless. I tried contacting Velowave twice via their customer support link on the website which is cs at velowavebikes dot com. No response. I finally got a response via Amazon messages and basically, after a few email exchanges, was sent a purchase link for a new brake caliper. I emphasize purchase link - NOT "we will send you a caliper under warranty".Granted, when reading the warranty, it states that the motor, battery and controller have a 1 year warranty. I suppose that the rest of the bike has absolutely NO coverage at all. Brake pads - sure - no coverage - understandable. But the actual caliper??? I am going to post a video of the leaking caliper. To further explain, my wife is a grandmother of 4 and to say she is a conservative rider is an understatement. She is overly cautious and careful especially while riding. I initially thought she had worn the pads out due to over braking until I discovered the leaking caliper. My bike is still working great and I am a far more aggressive rider. I still think they are an awesome purchase and worth the money, HOWEVER, please be aware this company will probably not stand behind anything other than the expressly mentioned motor, battery and controller after the 30 day Amazon return window has closed.UPDATE - ANOTHER UPDATE - UPDATE 10 -23 - 2022Velowave DID send a replacement brake caliper shortly after writing the above review and sending several videos and pictures of the leaking caliper. So I am very impressed with them for honoring the warranty. Thank you to Velowave. As for the bikes, we are over 300 miles now and everything is working great! Riding style plays a HUGE factor in how battery life is affected.Example: I keep my bike in 7th gear for most of the riding we do (rail-trail with easy grades) with assist at level 1. After 20 miles, I usually have 65 percent left. My wife will be between 45 to 50. I suspect she uses the throttle quite a bit which I never use.Anyway, we ride a lot now where we used to ride very little and see a great deal more terrain as we pack the bikes to lots of different places. Highly recommended!
