GEDORE1649337 676 Driving Handle 1/4"

I like the idea of swapping out shafts and handles to get the desired screwdriver vs keeping around a hundred of specialized ones. The handle is on a smaller side, but larger than a stubby - which is what a lot of us are looking for. It still has the Gedore’s signature flat shape and the plastics quality is top-notch.The hex shaft receiver has a fairly tight tolerance. It goes 30mm deep and will accommodate double ended bits. There is a spring detent on the inside, which provides much tighter hold than a magnet would (as in, for example,  Wiha 28102 Bit Holder with Handle Magnetic ). In fact, the spring is quite stiff, so when you insert a bit or extender you have to do it like you mean it.This design works great for smooth shafts, like Gedore’s own  699 L Bit Holder 1/4"  or  673 L Socket Holder 1/4"-1/4" , but not good at all for power blades, those with the quick-release notch. This might be an implementation flaw, since the notch on those lands right over the spring detent and leaves the bit free to wobble in all directions - in, out, and side to side - just short of falling out. Had they positioned the spring closer to the entry, like on  Felo Smart Handle  it might have been a different story, but I didn't verify that.Considering that the vast majority of bits and extensions on the market today are in fact power bits, all intended for the quick-release chucks (i.e. with the notch), and Gedore’s extensions are very pricey, this is where the value proposition of the driver becomes a little iffy.Yet, I appreciate that it works for its intended purpose well and allows me to build a screwdriver the way I want it, or even make my own custom extenders. With an unbeatable price, it’s a great value too (probably has to do with it being made in Slovenia :))Still, it would be awfully nice if Gedore also offered a companion bayonet-style handle with similar great ergonomics and full support for the power blade bits and extenders, along the lines of  Wiha 38701 ESD Safe 1/4-Inch Quick Release Bit Holder .

Bimaterial, agarre cómodo y ajuste perfecto al portapuntas. Mide sólo 9 cms. de largo y como es aplanado no tiene mucho volumen, por eso resulta ideal en manos pequeñas o en lugares de acceso difícil, pero para manos normales o tareas de fuerza es un poco pequeño. Gedore, Made in Slovenia, por poco más de 5 euros me parece buena compra.
