Avia 830 Men's Basketball Shoes, Retro High Top Sneakers for Men Indoor or Outdoor, Street or Court Size 7 to 16

The most difficult part of writing this review is finding enough different ways to say how great these shoes are. The fit is fantastic. With the padded collar they're not that easy to slip on and off, so I don't use the very top eyelet for the laces, I just don't lace them that far up. High top basketball shoes are NOT supposed to be easy to get on and off; if they were, they're not doing their job. You can certainly skip a lace eyelet lower down the shoe as well if you need to be able to get them on and off easily. Remember, every hole doesn't need to be used, only what you need to be comfortable. If you don't lace them up fully you won't receive the full benefit of the padded collar, but the choice is yours. I wear mine on the street so I don't need full ankle protection. Back in the early to mid 1980s, I used to love the Avia brand of high top basketball shoes. When I got married in July 1985, after the wedding ceremony in the church ended, guess what shoes I changed into for the reception? White high top Avias. They were perfect with my white tux. I wore them the rest of the night, to include not only the reception but also the gift opening session and the dance. I've had many different athletic shoes over the years, mostly Nike brand, but I was so happy to finally find a pair of high top Avias that I liked that I just bought them again. I may buy a third pair. They are so comfortable it's hard to believe. The fit is true, sized as expected. They are very sharp shoes. If any of the kids refer to them as "dad shoes" I'll say, "Yup, you got that right. They're too cool for you." I wish Avia had risen to the heights of the athletic shoe kingdom in the same way that Nike has, but if they don't, at least keep making these affordable, attractive, comfortable shoes and I'll be happy to keep buying them. Welcome back, Avia. Damn good to have you on my feet and in my closet again. It's been too long.

I use these shoes exclusively for basketball every morning, 5 days a week for 45+ minutes. The pictures are what they look like after a month and, granted I do clean them, they're holding up great.At first, they honestly weren't comfortable at all. It felt like my toes were in wooden shoes. After a day or two of wearing them though, they fit like a glove and are seriously some of the most comfortable shoes I've had, just know that it's going to take a day or two before you get to that point, but it's totally worth it.

I get a lot of compliments. They are larger than Nikes. I wear 15 in Nike and 14 in most other brands. I tried 15s but had to swap for 14s and now they fit great.They are a little heavy but less heavy than Air Force 1s in my opinion. I didn’t weigh em.I got the white with red colorway. The colors are true to the images. Bright.The treads are really solid. I imagine they will stay grippy for a long time.They are a pain to lace. I purchased extra long white flat stretchy laces which makes them much easier to get on and off without having to unlace multiple eyelets. With the stock laces, I had to unlace 2-3 rows every time I wanted to get them on and off.

The uppers full on leather and the ankle padding is comfy. The rubber sole is incredible and the red, white & blue Avia®️is stitched on and not a cheap decal. These are the quality I expected from the name-brand AVIA. For the price you can afford a couple pairs if you can make a decision with all the color combos they offer. I’m very satisfied with my purchase.

Soft leather and very comfortable , so nice I bought another pair after the first pair in Blue arrived .What I really liked was the sole was REAL rubber , not that cheap synthetic crap that some sneaker companies are using

I absolutely love these shoes, but I must include a qualifier, they do run narrow. However, my feet are narrow. Finally me and my Alpine ski feet can finally wear a cool pair of sneakers.

Been needing a new good pair of street-kicks for a while but wanted to go with something that has a little more soul(no pun intended).These are stylish, affordable, really comfortable and seemingly durable!If these are your style, I'd definitely recommend!
