Best knife you never knew you needed
Used this knife to break down 3 wild pigs this morning. Cut off feet too and didn’t need to be sharpened. Super impressed and look forward to breaking down a bear with it next. Also it fits in the stealth so snug it’s perfect. Will continue to buy benchmade

Benchmade Does It Again.
This is a spendy knife but it is well worth the price. I purchased the firstlite edition knife because it is $30 cheaper on Amazon than anywhere else at the moment.

Perfect!
This is a great knife! It is awesome for skinning. Came sharp and stays that way, and takes an edge easy.

Small and extremely Sharp
I just received my Benchmade altitude knife. It came extremely sharp! I've become a bit of an edge snob and generally tune up the knives I receive because the edges can generally be improved. That said, this edge really doesn't need it. It was hair popping sharp right out of the box. I will probably give it a stropping just because I'm so OCD about my edges. The reason I purchased this knife is because I'm an elk hunter. I've heard so many knife reviews about how people have dressed out numerous deer in a single season and their edges were still hair popping sharp. I've been using good knives but that hasn't been my experience. Generally I will need to change knives or touch up my edge about half way through an elk. Don't get me wrong, my edges aren't totally dulled out, but they certainly aren't as sharp as when I started. I have been using my KOA D2 elk hunter for the past ten years. It's a great knife, but at the end of last season I decided to start looking at some of the higher end steels. I am on a bit of a quest to find a knife that will remain sufficiently sharp through an entire elk. I have several benchmade pocket knives and I really like them so I decided to try a couple of their hunting knives to see how I like their design/feel and to test the edge holding retention on elk hide. I now have one of their hunters in S30V and this knife in S90V. Supposedly they both hold their edges very well but I have to try it for myself. All I have to do now is get an elk or two down to test these steels. Sorry for the long winded back story as to why I purchased this knife. This knife isn't very big and really doesn't have any handle or grip (for lack of a better term) at all. That said, it actually feels fairly comfortable in my hand. I'll update this review after I have processed an elk so I can provide my feedback as to how this knife performed for me. Getting back to my KOA elk hunter real quickly; I don't want to discourage anyone from picking up that knife. The elk hunter is a fantastic knife that feels amazing in the hand and does perform well. Maybe they should consider making it in a modern super steel. That knife also costs less than half the price of this tiny thing. We'll see how The Altitude performs and I'll update this review. Benchmade did sharpen the *#@% out of this knife.
