A much needed backstory for the development of the protagonist
+ One of the most beautiful volume covers. How it parallels vol 1 cover is simply art, especially since the story is finally touching uppn the deeper layers of Allen's character.+ It seems the more we see from this backstory, the more Allen's character is starting to "make sense". It grounds him so much as a character.+ Mana is a very interesting and likeable character. His dynamic with Allen is so sweet!+ For those who read magazine release, there were some pages that look like rough draft and those were naturally fixed here.+ The art in this volume is particularly phenomenal. Everything from the surrounding scenery to impactful moments. Very memorable pages.- Its unfortunate that this volume ends at chapter 245, right before the end of the backstory. Chapter 246 is in my opinion one of the best chapters in a while.- The plot progression understandably takes a backseat to the characters but it can take a toll on the reader given the quarterly release schedule of chapters.- I own nearly all the volumes, and I must say I've never been a fan of the official translation. Luckily the Japaneseq readers in the fandom helps out by explaining things, but its always discouraged me from buying the books even though I still do. Hell even the back cover summary has a typo saying "Cross Marion" when its "Marian". But I digress.Anyways, enjoy this volume. I'll still give it 5 stars because its D.Goat-Man, but personally I am really looking forward to when volume 29 is released because every chapter in that has so far been fantastic. Although its much more wordy so I'm afraid the translations will mess up more than usual.
