Most of my barrels are 55 gallon plastic. I have a couple of 20 gallon plastics as well. This tool worked on all of them with the 2" caps. I was surprised at how light the wrench is and how easy it is to get a good grip and enough leverage to easily tighten and loosen the caps. The casting in aluminum is well made and I couldn't detect any defects. The powder coating was outstanding. Because of the angle of the wrench head, I found it helpful to place my hand on top of the head while turning the wrench to prevent the head from slipping off the cap. I don't have any 1.5" hex caps and couldn't test that feature. I am a little concerned that the 1/8" depth of the hex portion of the wrench might not be sufficient to maintain a solid grip for removal of the hex caps. This is a nicely constructed tool that has a specific purpose and it serves that purpose well. If you need one for opening and closing drums, this is a good choice.
