Oregon 23560 Plastic Tree Felling Wedge,10 inches

Likes: relatively inexpensive, especially when compared to a new bar and / or chain, they seem pretty durable, as there's no need to hammer them hard, just enough to fit tightly, the 'scales' are effective at stopping them sliding out, they're soft enough not to damage the chain if you accidentally catch them with the saw, yellow colour aids locating them in undergrowth or deep sawdust, I've used them when felling metre - wide trees and for preventing the saw getting trapped while felling awkward leaning or hung up trees .. all successfully, so the size seems about right for meDislikes: none so far

Does exactly as you'd expect it to, very durable and can take a beating, would recommend

I am not a lumberjack, just a guy with a chainsaw needing to get rid if a large Ash tree. My first thought when I saw these was “would a couple of PLASTIC wedges really help fell a large Ash tree”. I need not have worried as they did the job and helped cut the trunk into, just about, manageable logs.These wedges were really tough and handled being driven into the cut with a large lump hammer and the only damage when I finished the job was some of the plastic on the thin end being cut away when the chainsaw was pushed in underneath. The wedges are still useable and being plastic did not damage the saw chain.Good kit and the tree dropped exactly where planned.I find reviews help my buying decisions. I ordered these to try and jack up the front brick extension porch on my dads house. The foundations are very slowing dropping on the foundations, the rest of the house is fine. But the extension pivoting away from the house and is cracking the brick work in and outside of house.Put this in the outside corner of the extension and hammered it in and the crack in the wall closed up 3mm all round, next to the house. Only another 3mm to go. Very happy with results, so buy several more to jack up to correct position and get a bricklayer in to tidy it up and secure the wall with concrete. It will saves thousands of pounds to secure the wall and extension by differing and under pinning the foundations. Dad is very happy, we can save his house 😊

Very handy to have when clearing trees, I tested this out with a tree that had fallen against another and my saw got stuck, I knew this would happen before I made the cut but wanted to test the wedge out and it worked great.
