The actual product dimensions are 27.5×22.2×5.7 cm. Printed in the USA yet its print quality and layout are inferior to that of its third edition (2010) which is printed in Italy. Nevertheless, this edition has a greater number of senses of entries explained than in the third edition. Bloomsbury encarta dictionary is its great rival. Chambers too is stupendous but ,at places, it appears to give more of an impression of being a thesaurus than a proper lexicon.

商売の邪魔して悪いけど、苦学生を念頭に少し書きますね。ＯＤＥの第1版がこのＮＯＤＥです、名前が違うから旧版を探そうとしても、検索に引っかからない仕組みになってる。実際はこちらで十分、内容はほぼ同じ、例えば・・・・紙面サイズ同じで超大型・ページ数2152ｐと第1版の方が多い、（だからこの版だけページ数記載がないのかね？）・定義文も同じ（語義番号の入れ替えだけが少しある）・もちろん3版には新語の追加は多少ある。以上、古本で送料込み650円、お得。状態「可」で「新品」が届いた注意として第1～3版共通で以下がある・発音記号の表示は限られた単語だけしかない・巻末の付録とか無い・図、写真は無い、言葉だけで押し通すタイプ・名詞の加算、不可算の区別表記なし、動詞の自他も区別も（no obj）とか独特・例文もほどんど無い、あっても文じゃなく「句」・印刷はアメリカ、（普通中国です）・紙質は黄色くないタイプ、綺麗な白、フォントも太目だから読みやすい、でも裏字の透けが強いから好き嫌い分かれる・単語の用法や語法の解説はあっさりしてる、学習辞典じゃやないからそこに期待してはいけない以上です、頑張って勉強してください。
