I wasn’t sure if a 9.5 would be too tight (based on reviews and my previous experience with the 27s) so I also bought a size 10. At first the 9.5 felt snug, but after walking inside for a few mins they felt comfortable. I also tried on the 10, but it felt a bit too large and not secure on my foot. These 29s are a bit narrower than the 27s and the toes felt more roomy to me. I also just ran a few miles on the treadmill and no issue at all. Btw, I love that the laces on the 29 were actually long enough for a change.I definitely recommend the Asics Gel Kayano 29 (and if the price drops again, I’ll get a second pair to rotate).

I walk and hike a lot but also needed a nice looking functional sneaker with a good arch for sidewalk and indoor walking. This is it - my foot can go on forever in these shoes. Plus I got them on sale - but would’ve paid full price - that’s how good they are.

I've been wearing Asics Kayano for 20+ years and they have recently changed their design. Shoes are not comfortable and don't offer the support as they used to. I buy 4-5 pair each year. I have tried Brooks and will give them a try for a while.
