Legends of the Fall [Blu-ray] [French Import]

In my top 20 of all time! I have at times wondered why I've never seen this film available on blue-ray in the U.K. so when I saw that it was available in region B as a French release I had to get it, and watched it immediately as I had it on VHS then DVD now brilliantly clear like in the cinema where I first saw it, now on blue-ray. The four leading characters put in a thrilling flawless performance in this epic tale that covers many basis (love/loss/politics/wilderness/wildlife/spiritual and more) and a must see if you haven't seen it. I love it as much now as when it was released.It arrived just days after I ordered it so chuffed at that to.

great story line, beautiful setting and wonderful acting. Might not be everyones cup of tea but I loved it. THe voice of one stab, Gordon Tootoosis is soothing and adds something lovely to this film. Tantoo Cardinal plays a beautiful role as do Isabel one and two, Karina Lombard and Sekwan Auger, and lets not forget Bart the bear. I loved the bit at the end as he fought with his trainer/house mate Doug Seus, who was great image for Tristan the old.

A wonderful film this, spreading itself across probably every 'genre' - Romance, Selfishness, Jealousy, War, Loyalty, Disloyalty, Crime,the list is endless. The casting is PERFECT in all parts, the acting excellent, beautifully photographed by John Toll and with music by James 'Titanic' Horner. Anthony Hopkins is Col.Ludlow .Retrd and his 3 sons, Brad Pitt - Tristan, the middle son, selfish, spoilt and Ludlows favourite.Henry Thomas - Samuel, sensitive and very correct and understanding and Aidan Quinn - Alfred is quieter, respectful and has a sense of dependability about him but is easily upset. The three are bound to each other and it appears nothing will break it until Samuel arrives one day with his faince Susannah played by very pretty Julia Ormond. In order NOT to give away any of the story I will not give details of the plot suffice to say this is a helter - skelter ride of moods. highs and lows throughout. Directed by Edward Zwick - Blood Diamond, Defiance, Shakespeare in Love and what is in my view one of the best American Civil War Films ever made 'Glory'. Highly recommended.

I loved this film, despite it's age it is still a gripping story which kept me captivated for the whole film. Has lots of themes, love, loss, prejudice, injustice, war, family etc. Also has some lovely horses in it, the beautiful American West and Brad Pitt, what's not to like! I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did, I am glad I watched it, it is now one of my favorite films.

Such a wonderful and powerful film of a man nurturing his three sons in the wilderness. Tale of true and powerful loyalty of blood and kindred spirit through childhood, war, politics, love and family ties . superb acting by all. Absolute must see

I wasn't disappointed, "Legends Of The Fall" remains a fine film, in my view, reflecting as it does the importance of protecting strong family values and parenthood, and features wonderful scenery.I enjoyed it so much, I've bought the DVD.

I think this movie is so underrated (58% on Rotten Tomatoes, excuse me) . It does have everything. Family, war, politics, racism, love, passion, wilderness. The beauty of Canadian nature, beautiful music by James Horner. The cast is top. Who would not love duo Pitt - Hopkins. Julia Ormond is stunning as always. Aidan Quinn is great, so is Henry Thomas and I could go on and on. When I saw this for the first time I started crying after 20 minutes and didn't stop until the end. It's just so pure movie, how could you not love it.

Great film, lovely sweeping story, makes you cry, Brad is utterly gorgeous and perfectly cast, and the steaming was faultless
