Mini Leather Journal with Pen 3x4 in Leather Cover Extra Small olpr. Notebook (Natural)

For years, I have been looking for a small leather notebook to carry in my pocket for quick notes during the day. I finally found this one, and I am very happy with it. It uses the Moleskine Volant collection 56-page notebook as an insert. The Volant notebooks are easy to find and inexpensive, and the pages are perforated if you want to remove them. The notebook cover itself is relatively thick leather, but it is also very flexible, so it is great to put in a back or front pocket or even a shirt pocket -- it feels more like a thin wallet than a book when you carry it. The spine of the notebook cover has a slot for a mini-pen. The pen that came with the notebook was cheap and fell apart within a day, so I wouldn't think of that as much of a selling point. I rarely write reviews, but I had to about this product. It was well worth the money.

This is a very unique item, and seemed to be just what I need.Full disclosure: I'm a note-taker. I know I can type or even speak into my watch or phone or whatever and they will propagate across all my devices and, and.... and yet I just want to write notes. Leave me alone, I just want to write notes, dammit.But my thoughts occur at the most inopportune times... walking the dog, making dinner, and going to the bathroom (the ultimate think-tank).So I went looking for something like this, and was happy to find it! It's almost perfect for my needs. Upon receiving it, there are certain concerns, and these are specific to me:– I need to carry it in a back pants pocket– I need it to be as tough as my wallet– the pen has to be durable, for the above reasonsI received the Journal, and my first impression wasn't favorable – the leather is rather thin and "finished." meaning it won't accept the type of leather treatment I give all my leather goods – the leather is completely non-absorbent, and It felt chintzy and light in my hand. I guess that's maybe perfect for those that want to carry it in a shirt or jacket pocket – the "finishing" will likely keep it looking sharp. But you won't be able to affect the quality of the leather over time, which is something I enjoy about leatherThe pen also won't work for my purpose, but again it should be fine for a shirt or jacket. It's actually quite nice and precise, and I plan to find a use for it. I'm going to be carrying this in one of my butt pockets, and I've already discovered that I'll need to keep the pen side outboard, so to speak. I've chosen the Pokka pen, with it's rounded ends, and I'll follow Pman's tip on cutting the spinal threads to give more room.So all in all, a very unique item. The Moleskine XS refills are hard to come by, so stock up when you find them (art supply stores are a good bet).

This cover to the very small Moleskin Volant ruled journal is well made, good material, and well-priced. The leather is not heavy but adequate and can well form to one's pocket. I have not used the included pen, but I plan to replace that with one of higher quality. The pen is 4 inches long.

Great leather product, well crafted, perfect size. Except that the pen that comes with it has a label that is glued on so tight that you have to scrape it to remove it. The pen took away from what was otherwise a good product.

I wanted a small notebook I could carry in my front pocket (male here, wearing slacks at work and jeans outside of work). This is exactly what I was looking for. It is fairly thin, I hardly notice it is there. The stitching and overall quality seems to be very impressive. I have just received it. I'll try to update this review once I find out how it holds up over time. I could not be happier at the moment. As an aside, I really love the pen that came with it. Cell phones do so many things well, but I find them unworkable when it comes to jotting down quick notes.Edit 4/22/19: after months of carrying this, I still find the workmanship fantastic. I really like it, would buy another one in a heartbeat. Convenient to carry, looks good. Can't beat the convenience of carrying a notebook and paper.

Just what I needed for my purse. The leather matches well and the little one is pretty cool.

The leather creases badly along the edge the first time you fully open the journal and doesn't look good. I tried using many coats of leather conditioner but it didn't prevent the creases from coming back.

Both the pen and pad can be replaced as needed so the leather wallet can be used a long time.

My husband was looking for a very small leather-bound notebook with pen to carry in his pocket. I bought him this to replace his old one, when the dog chewed it and he was struggling to find a replacement of the right size. He is very pleased with this little notebook - it fits in a pocket, has the required little pen, and is made of high quality soft leather. There seems to be no problem in getting hold of replacement notepadsto fit inside the cover. The tan colour of the leather looks really nice too.
