I bought this item on March 24, 2024, and I finally unboxed it on May 14, 2024. It comes with the batteries. On turning it on, it does take temperatures where I point the laser. However, I could not get it to perform any of the other features. Even reading the English in the user guide was of little help. (I wish non-English companies would hire a native English speaker to make sure the translations are understandable to us.) I finally found the instruction I needed to get to the additional features.One feature is moving the pointer around and getting a maximum, a minimum, or an average temperature. I'm not sure how I would use this feature. Another feature is emissivity. Emissivity is the relative power of a surface to emit heat. Aluminum has a different relative power than steel, so reading aluminum kettle is different from reading a stainless steel one. This thermometer can be adjusted based on what surface you are scanning. Lastly, there is a manual calibration feature. If you scan something with a known temperature, you can calibrate this thermometer to read it properly.All I have done so far is turn it on and discover the features. In addition, I can say that the plastic housing is extremely lightweight. I am concerned dropping it will break it. However, it functions as advertised with a little reading between the lines of the instructions. If I am ever able to determine its accuracy, I will update this review.

Good value. Quickly reads temperature. Use it every time I cook in a pan or skillet.

Was trying to use this temp gun for swapping crank bearings on my scooter, which requires temps around 120-130c, and it's flat out worthless. It would barely read anything over 60c, and temps would swing by 40c depending on... it's mood, I guess? For instance, I was heating aluminum with a heat gun, and the gun said it was 70c. Splashed a drop of water on the aluminum, and it vaporized almost instantly. That ain't 60 degrees.Only plus point, the laser pointer is fun to screw around with while you wait for a different temp gun to show up.

I can't think of anything I dislike about this. This is perfect for my needs! I needed to check spaces around the house (checking insulation) as well as a gecko enclosure. I find the closer to the space, the more accurate. I love this little thermometer as it's light, easy to read, and shuts off itself after 15 seconds of non-use. It's a handy tool to have and I would recommend it.
