This fire mat is surprisingly thin at first glance so although the listing says it has three layers they are not particularly substantial.I have not been able to test this mat yet due to the weather but would imagine it will be good for the camping kit to protect the grass under the BBQ although bear in mind that it is not recommended to sit the fire source directly on the mat so no good for disposable BBQs.

Really nice fireproof mat that does an excellent job of deflecting heat and is well made. Would recommend!
