For whatever reason, this product is far less effective as stopping nicks and cuts than the styptic pencils I've used in the past. After wetting, it doesn't seem like its ingredients really transfer enough to provide an immediate seal and stop any bleeding. It lacks that immediate sting other pencils have provided when applying them to my skin. I would not buy again and likely will end up throwing these pencils out.
