Absolutely Brilliant Retractable Lead - Strong, sturdy, durable, works very well, very pleased with this purchaseThis lead arrived early and was well packaged with excellent clear instructions. It is strong, safe and very easy to use. It locks / unlocks quickly and it retracts really quickly and very smoothly. It does not tangle. I walk dogs for a living, so I have tried many versions of this lead from many different brands. This one is by far the best. I purchased the first one (blue medium) earlier this year and it still looks and feels and works like new. I was so impressed that I have since bought several others including the green and the red. I am very pleased with all of them, especially for the price. When I walk the dogs, they have freedom and I can still get them under control really quickly if I need to. I highly recommend this product, much better than previously purchased, more expensive, retractable leads, get this one, you won't be disappointed

This has to be the most dangerous thing that I have ever used whilst walking my whippet. She got spooked by a car whilst the lead was extended and although I saw the car coming as she was on a grass verge the lead didn't retract quick enough so I had to grab the nylon part with my left hand and as I did she wrapped herself around me and I ended up with a burn on 3 of my fingers which needless to say hurt a little bit. Unless you are 100% sure about your dog and indeed how to use these leads properly please take my advice and give this a miss. Could not however, fault the seller.

1st one - Lasted 3 days before the lead jammed in the mechanism.Mechanism was hard to use and kept jamming so I couldn't bring my dog back in to control him. Could be dangerous if near a main road.After reading this review the seller offered a free replacement, the replacement arrived quickly and worked well for a couple of weeks, however, the lead itself is weak and last night I noticed that it has started to stretch, (my dog does not pull very often but sometimes he runs to its extent and it tugs).I would recommend this type of lead to very small dogs with practically no weight to them (Like anything less than 4kg)

Good points: The handle shape is comfortable to hold and I like that is has a rubber grip on it. The weight balance is nice and it feels strong. Negative points: The 'stop button' is not the best it is too far away from the handle, so it isn't easy to push quickly, it is also very clunky - not a smooth process. The noise the lead makes when the tape is being coiled in or going out is a lot louder than other leads I have had.

This lead started off fantastic but after only one month, the retracting device inside of the lead itself has begun to fail on numerous occasions. Making what was a good lead, unsafe to use.21/04/17After posting the above review, I was sent an email straight away and another lead sent free of charge. There have been no issues with this new lead.

Purchased this item before our puppy came home. . .Used it for six days, having difficulty with the mechanism. Now completely stuck - will not switch between reeling/locked positions. Now I find there is no way to return a faulty item as outside the returns window.- Update on the above: seller a replacement straight away with no charge. Many thanks.

Feels quite lightweight and a bit temperamental. If the lead is not 100% straight it doesn't retract properly. I have a 5 month old pup and the ability to retract quickly and easily is a must. We all struggle a bit with the button but whether it is because our other lead is a ferlast and operates slightly differently I'm not sure. Have already ordered a new lead and will keep this as a spare.

I had problems getting it to lock and to release, might have been user error but I gave in and bought a pukka one with a round cord rather than a ribbon one. It got tangled a few times as it went back into the cassette.
