Does anyone need these platters when a side plate will do? The answer is of course no, but if you're like me and you're really into the Royal Doulton Pacific range, when you see pieces you haven't already got, you have to buy them. We used the Royal Doulton set for our Christmas meal, had the jugs from the set for the gravy and used these for the cheese course. I really like the fact that they are mixed and feature a selection of the designs. At £44-55.00 they aren't cheap, but to a collector of Royal Doulton Pacific they are priceless!

Some time back we started replacing our old dishes with Royal Doulton Pacific. We now have the cereal bowls, pasta bowls, large mugs, medium and small plates. I showed a Twitter friend photo of a dinner and he loved the pattern. While looking up a source for him I saw these...cheese boards? trivets? bread plates? Whatever they are, we love them. We've used them for cheese, to keep individual lasagnes off the placemats, and just leave them on the table as a base for mustard, pickle jars or other condiments out of the fridge. Dinner just got more fun...

Bought as a gift. Arrived well packaged and promptly. Lovely product to go with other items in the range. Ideal to rest hot plates on to serve from on dining table or for cheese platter etc

I like these plates to go along with my blue and white set. The color is nice and I like the patterns. They are completely flat, no lip, so don't use for anything wet!They are heavier than I expected, so when I warm them to use as a bread plate for fresh hot rolls, they help keep things warm for a while. Great buy!

I now have a complete set. I love these dishes for salads and sandwiches. What I’m disappointed in is, most of the sets I bought had 6 plates. This set only 4 and expensive for 4.
