Pure Inulin, Very Economical
I really like this product - it contains nothing but inulin; it appears, tastes, dissolves, and works for me just as well as my previous brand; and it's far more economical to buy. I will definitely buy it again when I run out, although that will take awhile. Some reviewers are thrown by the difficulty keeping the seal clear of powder, and/or the fact that it doesn't come with a scoop. The seal doesn't bother me because I transfer smaller amounts to another container for daily use, and keep the large, difficult to seal bag in an even larger, easy-to-seal plastic bag. (I would warn users that the powder is very light and fluffy, and easy to spill when first opened or while transferring to another container. But it's doable.) As for the spoon, doses are measured by standard measuring spoons, so you don't really need a special scoop.

Works great at a great price
Bulksupplements inulin came in a resealable, waterproof pouch and dissolves very easily in liquid. Theirs is derived from sunchokes and has a sweet, pleasant taste. I mix it in coffee, sauces, and even my evening glass of red wine. USE WITH CAUTION! Inulin is the fiber responsible for the famous "fartichoke" effect some people suffer after eating jerusalem artichokes. When I was young and a smoker, this fiber would have bent me double and made me beg for death, but now that I'm older and have quit smoking, this stuff is a godsend. Nicotine is one of the few stimulant laxatives that works on the small colon, which tend to cause chronic constipation when people quit. Inulin keeps things running along while scrubbing bad cholesterol out of my system. Yay!

Continues to be my go-to for my inulin needs.
Very, very pleased with this product! I use inulin as one of the components of my no sugar sweetener mix. I've been using the Now brand, but this product is not only cheaper but a better quality. Very fine, white, with none of the slight aftertaste I get from the other when using large amounts.Update July 2018: Still my go-to inulin. Always a consistent quality, and I love that I can get it in a 1 kilo size (instead of 3 8oz bottles as I was doing previously). Not only is this a consistently superior product, but I save a lot of $ as well. I've also discovered in that last few months that yeast loves inulin as much as sugar - so I'm now able to make keto/low carb yeasted bread products with this inulin, and it works perfectly!

Inulin from artichoke, mixes with cold water relatively well, very effective!
First, let me say this product is mostly inulin, with a little bit of FOS naturally occurring in the artichoke (sun choke). I have tried a lot of different inulin products. Most of them are made from chicory roots. Those are fine, but nowhere nearly as effective for me as this one from artichoke. I've also tried blue agave inulin, and it was fairly effective, but a terrible mess to clean up left behind in the water glass. It did not mix well with cold water at all. This artichoke inulin mixes relatively well with cold water. There are still a few clumps, but if you keep stirring long enough they will dissolve. And you get some naturally occurring FOS thrown in as a bonus. A little FOS goes a long way. Too much of it will give you the runs, but it is very important to get some FOS into your system on a daily basis. It produces more butyrate than any other fiber, which helps reduce the chances of getting colon cancer. The key is to find out how much your system can tolerate and take the maximum it can handle. Lots of experimenting and trial and error until you figure it out. I also added a probiotic which contains a butyrate-producing bacteria called clostridium butyricum ("Miyarisan") to really crank out the butyrate, and it has been quite effective (warning TMI: I can literally smell the butyrate in the... well you know what).

Can't beat the price - comes with own probiotics
I was trying to make L. Reuteri cultured milk, which famously takes 36 hours to ferment. Imagine my surprise when my jars were popping off and separating after less than 9 hours. The result was still edible: It makes a very mild whey, and standard curds, much nicer than fridge fermented raw milk. But if you want to make a specific culture of yogurt you might want to cook this with your milk before seeding.

Simple to use and very good prebiotic
As others have noted, my package arrived feeling tacky. I rinsed it off, and dried it with a paper towel and that was solved in seconds. The product is a very fine, lightweight powder, so use in a still environment without any breeze. I mix about 2 tablespoons into my daily cup of Fage Total, and take my Digestive Advantage probiotic supplement all at once. The results of all these combined are incredibly good! I used to struggle with regularity but this combination has made things very predictable.I'm going to sample their psyllium fiber as well, because I know it work for me from other vendors, but the inulin is a better prebiotic from my understanding, and so far is just as effective as psyllium as a soluble fiber. In a full kilo bag, this is an incredible deal. I'm generally tolerant of a lot of fiber, so I don't have any stomach pain issues with these products, but if you have not taken fiber much, start slowly and see what your limitations are.
